Hair washing
Some of us use shampoo and conditioner, some baking soda, some just water...let's chat this out!
I always used s & c until a few months ago when I used baking soda. I liked it for a few months, but then my hair just couldn't decide how to be-it was sometimes oily, sometimes dry, sometimes weird. I learned, however, that it's not normal to have my hair coming out so much. Apparently, shampoo (all different kinds over the years) made my hair come out. Not a ton, but way more than was coming out with just a baking soda scrub. I went back to s & c for a short time, but now I'm trying the water only method. It's quite annoying to have such oily hair right now, but not a huge deal to wear it up/braided...which is usually what I do anyway.
P has only used water for a few months now, and says his is way less oily. I'm going to try to see how this goes! My hair doesn't feel dirty, and smells just like water..so that's fine. It looks fine as well, just oily on top! I just rinse well, then try to scrub really well all over my head, rinse again.

You all inflated my ego a bit, so I wore my hair halfway down today (pulled up in the front). I used another mirror to look at the back, and didn't look too bad! I think I have some faith in this method..

I'm still rocking along, water-washing on average probably every two days at the mo. I've got lots of faith, just hope it's justified!

My hair has hit the oily tunnel! Ewwwwww I don't like how it feels at all.
Ok, I have a question regarding the coconut oil for conditioner someone mentioned. What is involved with that? I have a friend with long, curly, frizzy, and thick hair and would love to give him some suggestions. Do you use the liquid oil? the solid? rinse? repeat? will it make the shower floor slippery? suggestions and advice please!

Granted I did cheat and wash it Saturday morning. But, it makes me happy. So far people haven't thought I'm gross when I say, "yeahh I'm trying to stop washing my hair"
I haven't really told anyone outside of VW, I don't want people scrutinising my hair and calling me out when it looks gross!
Funnily enough, the guy I suppose I'm seeing (really need to come up with a VW alias for him) has always really liked my hair and used to constantly remark about how silky and smooth it was... today, the day that I feel like my hair has reached its grossest state so far, he was like "yay your hair is all smooth and soft again" and was happy. Weirdo!

I sprinkled baking soda/cornstarch (lol, deodorant) in my hair this morning. It made it a touch nicer. I just don't think I'd do it that often.
I'm going to take my shampoos/conditioners out of the shower so I'm not tempted.

I'm two weeks since last shampoo today : ) It feels alright, still not 'normal', but certainly not oily or anything. I'm kinda hoping I'll be able to wear it out when we have a couple of functions to go to this weekend but if it's not gonna look good then I'll just keep tying it up, allll good! : )
my cunt of a roommate was talking to my sister's best friend about me because she cant say anything to my fucking face and she told her she thinks it's gross that i dont use shampoo. she can suck my big hairy dick. what i do with my hair is of no concern to her. i dont go around telling people that i think she is the most disgusting person i've ever met inside and out. ugh fuck her. i cant wait to get out of here and rub my non shampooed head all over her stuff.

For right now til december but my mom is coming up this weekend and we're gonna try to find a new place. and there are sooooo many other things she's done that has led me to feel this way. agh.

Well, I think I may be seeing light at the end of the oily tunnel. I was beginning to think this yesterday and I did a water wash today and I think it doesn't feel as mank.
But maybe it's not light at the end of the tunnel and it's just the oil glistening that I see.
Nah, I honestly think it's getting better. certainy wouldn't want to wear my hair down, but the fringe-y bits that hang around my face are no longer glued with oil to my scalp! The even blew a little bit in the breeze today!
The bottoms are still a little bit drier than I'm used to, but maybe that's just how my hair feels when it's not covered in conditioner. Meh whatevs, I'm not too worried about it now.
