Do you ever name inanimate objects...?

Like say your car, or cellphone, or whatever? My family always named their cars. Whatever Mom drove became "Hildegarde". A few years back DH's old jalopy became "Gertrude" (usually pronouced in the German way, Gair-truda.) My cellphone has been Alfred for years now (same old Nokia, it was an older model when I bought it for half nothing, but he's tough) and my new ebook reader rapidly became Antonio. Problem: DH has friends and I have students named Antonio, so that wouldn't work. We've settled on Antoine...but I know that in his heart he's Antonio.
OK, yeah, I seriously need help...but...
Do any of your objects have names?
lol you don't need help! my car's name is yazmine visciano. daughter of staten isalnd guido, the italian stallion visciano and de las chongas visciano, a chonga from miami. yazmine's stage name is "just yaz".
now i need help. :D
All objects. Some that come to mind:
current car=old gray
new macbook=gray
old laptop=crusty
desktop=black
ps3=peese
psp=peesp
Most others have weas names.
eta: We've also already named the car we hope to get in a few months-Sube sube.
I do. My insulin pump is named Henry. My good flute is named Gregoire. My old flute is Anthony. My good piccolo is Stella. My old piccolo is Stan. My car is named Camry, and he is a Camry. I told him to speak up if he wanted another name. These are the ones that pop into my mind.
Oh! I have an oscillating fan named Marvin.
No. Mostly. Like, I don't name my car, but I call a car's windshield wipers its eyelashes. It was a stretch to name Cat, and look at his name.

"Poor old cat, poor old slob..." Now, what movie is that from?
YG: Breakfast at Tiffany's
and nope, I do not.

Go to the head of the class, SI! :)>>>
Damn, I would have gotten that one too!
Our car's name is Sprout. We do tend to come up with names for all kinds of things, lol!
I don't name inanimate objects. I actually un-name people and animals. Like if I'm talking to Vincent, I call him "baby", or if I'm talking about him to DH I call him "the dude". I call Hugo "puppy", I call my brothers "hermano" and Herman (started out as "hermano dos", but that's too much of a mouthful considering his real first name is only 1 syllable). If I'm talking to my brothers about my parents I call them "the madre" and "the padre". DH and I have been together since 2003, and I never called his parents anything until Vincent was born last year and I started calling them by their grandparent names, Nan and Pop.
I'm weird. :)
Hmm. I don't. Though I generally refer to things as "thingy" or "thing."
I'm a very creative person.
Car = Aaron Landon DeLonge
Computer = Tim
Ipod = Excalibur
Trash compactor at work = Craig Crushinator Compactor
There are probably more things I can't think of. I think the printer might be named Lisa?

See, that's what I mean! Things come with their own names...you just discover them.
I love Craig Crushinator!! :)>>>
It's like when people decide "when I have a baby I'monna name it X if it's a girl, or Y if it's a boy." And then baby comes out the chute, sticks out his or her hand and says, "Hi, I'm Z!" and totally upsets their plans. DH's best friend and his wife had decided to name their new daughter Paloma, from the moment of the ultrasound...except that the minute she was born and they got a look at her, they kept referring to her as Alicia. Well, Alicia's engaged now...
I don't know if these really qualify as names, but:
My first car was "the turd car", because it was small and brown and ugly.
My last car was "the dung beetle", because it was a piece of crap VW beetle.
My snuggle pillow is Bob.
Yes! My Ipod is Pinky (yes it's pink) my running watch is marvin, my car is Betsey, my favorite travel mug is comigo, my stove is enfuego, the tropical plant in my living room is Fred....I also like to name the wildlife in my yard. My favorite cardinal is Crazy Carl and if I see him with a female, I generally call her Mrs. Carl, but I can't really tell the females apart. Chipmunks are all named Charlie and Squirrels are all named Sammy by default, I used to see a groundhog on one of my regular running routes, his name was Grover. yeeeaahhh
Oh! I forgot! I started naming houseplants back in the 70s when they said that talking or playing music to your plants made them grow better. My 2 philodendrons (don't have light enough for anything else) are Peter and The Tree...because it grows and grows and grows.
