Uhoh... HairCut Gone Wrong (NVR)

I got bored and cut off all my hair.
I've chopped it off myself a few times before and those were okay-ish but this time it didn't go well.
It's just hair, so I'm not dying but I do look like a freak now, and not in the "cool punky freak" way I wanted to look... more of the "someone attacked Meg Ryan with scissors" way. ::)
I can't even attempt to fix it because I don't have a hand mirror and can't see the back. ::)

First of all, I think it doesn't look bad. I really like it actully! The back has a bit of a rough spot, but it's really not bad. Pretty darn good for doing it yourself w/o a hand mirror!
If it (the back) is really bothering you, though-- if you are up to a bit of a challenge I would suggest trying this style cut to eliminate the unevenness in the back. (Although I definitely would get a mirror to view the back of your hair first though.) :) I'm not a fan of Victoria Beckham, but when I saw her cut I loved it. You could keep the long bob look in the front while blending the sides shorter into the back. Here are some links with her pics and a link to cutting the bob.

I used to cut my own hair for a few years when I kept it in a shorter layered look (got tired of paying so much so often when I figured I could do it myself!) , and I got compliments from strangers. So I know if I can do it anyone can! Just takes a bit of studying pics of the angles beforehand to get the end look. And texturizing is your friend on short cuts! :D

I actually cut about 6 inches off or rather HAD IT cut off last week. It was just inching past my waist, so it is bra line in the back. I LOVE IT. It feels cool, light, spunky and I feel younger too. I think the hair cutting is something in the air with all of us. You know, women are pack animals, we sort of move and shake in packs, like she-wolves. We are cutting our hair or thinking about it. I wonder if our cycles are starting to match...we spend too much time on here!!!!!
I say leave it. It is only dead cells, it will grow back. If you want it shorter, you can have a hairdresser even it up, but I think it is fine. Do you feel lighter, cooler and spunkier too? You are young and pretty, so I won't ask if it makes you feel younger!
I was thinking along the lines of mdvegan and firefightress. It's only rough in that one area in the back which that style would fix. I like the hair line in the front.
i have my husband's clippers! i could probably get a more even cut in the back with those. I want to cut it higher in the back but i'm nervous. I'll go for it in a few hours when the kiddo's in bed
I think that you did a great job. I would have someone else trim up the back if at all possible but it looks darn professsional imo

I used clippers and took off a TON more. I'm much happier with it.
Oh and it's EVEN in the back now... lol I used a DVD as a mirror to do the back. I even airdryed it and just messed it up a little! Whoohoo!
I went a little shorter on the front than I meant to but it'll grow out quick. :D

Nope, DH won't be able to see it until September. (Good news about that too BTW, if anyone wants to know message me! ;) ) I told him when he called last night though, he doesn't understand the whole "i want to cut it NOW" thing
Koen doesn't seem to notice or care. :)
The only reaction I got from him was during the second cut (he was with me in the bathroom) and saw the hair on the floor and said, "What's this? It's hair!" over and over... and over ::)

I have a bit of surgery this month so it's a busy month, but next month is it! I want this or something even shorter.
