Let's talk some more about tattoos, shall we?

I know we have threads, and I know we talk about them in different places, but......here we are.
Now that I just have touch ups left on my chest, I'm trying to decide what to get to cover up my little blip of a tat. on my hip. I think I want to get something that ties in with my chest piece.
eta: I deleted that creepy picture. It was just too creepy!
Shelloid! Just wanted to say I love love love your tattoo so much. I have been considering a foot tattoo for a while now. How much did it hurt on the foot bones? How long did it take? Beautiful.
Gorgeous tattoos everyone. Guess, I'll join in. This is a pic from vacation. I don't have any close-up shots of my tattoo since its on my upper thigh...and I'm shy...lol.

I've had it since I was 19.
VS is hot!! I already knew this.
Is it a panther?
So my new pretty foot (bad photos as it's surprisingly hard to photo ones own foot!):

Absolutely beautiful!!! <3
OMG Shell! That is beautiful! I've had visions of a vine tattoo on my foot for years, but never really "pictured" it. That's very similar to what I want. If I ever really decide to do it, I may print that out and take it with me! (if you don't mind me being a copycat, that is).
Has anyone else ever had shiny tattoo skin? I didn't have this with any of my other sections, but my most recent tattooed skin is shiny (the green). I'm paranoid about it b/c I've used a different lotion for this section. It doesn't look unhealthy, but I want the shiny to go away! All I could find online is that it's new skin regenerating..
I think i know what your talking about AC, and mine have done that part way through healing (after all the gross peely/itchy thing goes away)

Yeah, you know..I think it's just a healing thing. I either didn't notice it the other times, or it didn't do it then. Everything I read says it is normal healing, and will go away. I think this part just "healed" so quickly (the puffy, bruising, flake stuff), and I'm especially noticing the shininess. : )
Here is mine...

It is of an Oceanic White tip shark. This is my favorite shark that has been discovered thus far.
I would like to get another one (when I get more money) of a daisy brittle sea star on my ankle area.

They are so beautiful!
love everyones tattoos!
I also love the smell of the green soap most tattoo places use!
AC I had that shiny thing going on with my second back tattoo and that has turned out fine - I second the 'it's part of the healing process' view.
And to anyone that asked - yes it did hurt quite a bit, but not really unbearable ever. Quite a lot of the time was spent with Bruno changing colours and stuff so just when it felt OMG!!!! he would stop to change colour. The part on the inner bit of my foot was the worst and the bits around the ankle (not on the ankle) were almost a relief becausee it was way way less painful.
It stings quite a bit now - just about to go to work, so I'm sure it'll be worse later on after a day on my feet - ouchies!
It took about 2 hours in total - including Bruno drawing on my foot and us discussing it and changing it up a bit.
Lotus - print away if you want I would be honoured!
oh yeah and I was just looking at the photos of my tattoo again and I want to emphasis - I DO NOT HAVE CANKLES!!
I can't believe it looks like I have cankles - I actually have quite skinny ankles!

I'm going to start calling you cankleshell! haha, no. I had to go back and look after you said that, and it's obviously just the side view. It's a very nice foot tattoo! : D
Shelloid, its lovely. You have quite pretty feet and ankles! Dont worry!
My ankle is 8 days old and itchy! Ugh. I had some large scabs slide off in the shower yesterday which was kind of gross. hahaha i cant wait for it to be healed so I can shave my leg fully. Waiting is so frustrating. hehe
Cali, i had that shaving problem with my ankle tattoo! It was so awkward because i would have nice smooth legs and then a hairy tattoo. ick!
Cali - I hadn't even thought about not being able to shave that part of my leg - urgh! And they're already reasonably hairy now. Ooops - didn't think that one through.
Also Cali - I can't find the pic of your tattoo now but I love it - is it from the vegan society logo? I think I remember you saying that you were basing it on that (and it looks similar) - would you mind if I stole that idea in a few years time - I love it!
My brother in law is a tattoo artist and I am going to stay with him in Seattle tomorrow.
That's about all I can contribute to this tattoo thread.
Corinthia, would you get the sea star in color? I think that would be a fabulous tattoo!!!! Color or not!

I don't have any tattoos, nor do I want any, but can we please talk about this one? I know it's probably really old for most of you, but I just can't fathom wanting this, having this done, or in the case of the artist, putting this on someone. I mean, really?!

I think there may be a subliminal gay theme to that tattoo to be honest.
