I know we have threads, and I know we talk about them in different places, but......here we are.
Now that I just have touch ups left on my chest, I'm trying to decide what to get to cover up my little blip of a tat. on my hip. I think I want to get something that ties in with my chest piece.
eta: I deleted that creepy picture. It was just too creepy!
This picture does not do it justice, my mom sucks at picture taking and its all gross.
I'll get another picture when its pretty
The orange is a background, and the red spots are blood haa.
It took like 2 hours, and barely hurt. haha

i ESPECIALLY love the little touches of colour highlighting it. :)
Thanks guys :D
Me and the guys there were talking and they all want me to come back and get more veggie tattoos, they were like planning my whole body and where they should all go for me, haha. I might get more, thats why i put it on my shoulder, i figured its a good place if you want to add things (if that makes sense)
I'll wait a while though before i start seriously thinking about that (like when i have a job at least!!)
it looks llike my painting style. i just can't get over how beautiful an artichoke tattoo can look!
I know!!! Its so much better than i expected, but its pretty much exactly what i pictured in my head and i'm soooooo happy he knew what i was thinking and is a kick ass tattoo artist <3
I spent my afternoon sketching the bazillionth version of the tattoo I've been planning for 4 years...I'm actually coming to the point where I want to set a date for next month (my 21st, seems appropriate). It's pretty! But the tattoo guy will draw it prettier I hope... I'll put up a pic when I'm home and have my own computer...
I've always wanted a tattoo, but I have no idea what I'd like to have on my body for the rest of my life. I'll figure it out eventually.
I like yours, Sarah, and I can't wait to see pics of yours, Theo!
Courth, something a college friend of mine did (which I thought was a good way to decide on a tattoo) was find an image they really liked and kept it on his wall for a year, looking at it every day. They believed if they didn't get sick of looking at it for a year, then odds were they wouldn't get sick of it for the rest of their life.

I'm excited!
What does everyone use on their tattoos during healing?
Lotion?
Cocoa butter?
Stuff made for tattoo aftercare?
Chicken grease?! (not vegan!, my guy told me a story about how some one actually did that on their tattoo and it healed fine, yuk!)
I used A&D ointment for my first one and it turned out fine, but when I went back for the first touch up it required quite a bit of work done on it, I was assured this was normal. When I got my second one, I was told not to use any petroleum based cream/ointment, as it can leech out the ink. After the second one healed, it took MUCH less time to touch up and was over twice as big as the first.

Have you already figured out where/who you are going to have do it? If not, I have local suggestions/recommendations. Woooo more tattoos!
Oh, and Sarah, I totally missed out on the fact that you've got your artichoke already - it looks AMAZING, wow, just wow. So well done, the colours/shading look fantastic. Jealous much.
I used pregan unscented Aveeno during much of my tattoo healing. I think I've healed very nicely each time, and the places I require touch ups are where the ink didn't settle quite right. During this last healing phase, I've been using Alba Hawaiian cocoa butter lotion, and it's worked well also. I mean, I don't know how to tell a difference.
Thanks oww :)
I've been back and forth with what i use, first i used A&D, but it bothered me and was petroleum based. So i used Eucerin, but that made me break out. Then i got 100% cocoa butter, but its in this stick thing, and its hard to get on fresh tattoos (unless you melt it, and it absorbs to fingers more than tattoo it seems when it gets to that point). The i had some Lubriderm, but that BURNED. Right now i'm using this H2Ocean stuff my brother had for his, just because its in a hard spot to get the cocoa butter on, and this goes on really easy.

i would highly recommend AGAINST tattoo goo! i used cocoa butter and pure vitamin e oil on my first three. they healed perfectly. but my fourth one (layla's lotus) had so much colour that they told me to use tattoo goo. i was TERRIBLE! it did not keep it moist enough so it cracked all over and everywhere that it cracked, there are now holes in the image. this is the ONLY tattoo that requires a touchup. i was so disappointed since this one took about four hours. :'(
isn't h20cean a saline spray? i've heard terrible things about that for piercings. i don't know if i would recommend it for a tattoo since it will probably dry it out.
i also used "unpetroleum" which is vegan and not petroleum based, but feels a lot like vaseline.
