I'm just curious as to what everyone's blood pressure is.
The last time I had mine checked it was 96/56.

I'm honestly not sure. I don't think mine has ever been really bad, though.

My blood pressure used to run pretty consistently at 97/65 but about two years ago it started to creep up. First to 110, then 130 and finally was hitting 150/98 a few months ago. My rheumatologist put me on lisinopril and last check was 124/97.

Eh, I am usually between 120/69 and 136/73. I wish it were lower, because my dad`s side of the family has a history of really high blood pressure. It is part of the reason why I eat vegan (sometimes vegetarian). But eating vegetarian/vegan for the last two years has had no effect on it. I just have to chalk it up to genetics.

Whoa, those are some low pressures!
I checked mine the other day, and it was like 123/76, or something. My heartbeat is usually 60-65.

Not sure exactly, but last time I went to the lady doctor they asked me if I worked out becuase my blood pressure was so good. ;D That made me really happy becuase my dad had had a heart attack a few months before and there is a history of bad heart health in my family, plus I used to practically live off of slim jims :P

so far, i'm the only person to post here with crappy BP - :-\
my BP varies, it generally ranges in the 140s/mid 80s low 90s. If i'm eating too much sodium rich foods, it goes up (who knew!!!). If i cut back and exercise more, it goes down (again, who knew!).

wow, assuming the US uses the same units as the UK (mmHg) they are all really super duper low BPs. Mine is generally around 110-120/80 ish. I always though I had a high heart rate because whenever I measured itmyself it was about 90. But I've had it measured a few times recently - the last time during my medical for NZ my heart rate was just below 60. I was very pleased with myself :)

I always get comments on how low my blood pressure is (can't remember the numbers at the moment, though). Is it bad for one's blood pressure to be significantly lower than normal? I mean, high blood pressure is obviously a problem, but can blood pressure be too low?

Mine is usually low, but my doc was not too worried considering my size and weight.

My blood pressure runs low because of the thyroid disease, along with my pulse rate and body temperature. Always cold, always tired. But here in Europe they tell me that low blood pressure is a lot better than high. One doctor told me "It's like life insurance."

Mine is high :( I don't know the figures, but the doc was like "hmm thats odd" as I eat vegan and exercise regularly and all my blood tests came out perfect.
Everything I've looked up says "cut back on meat and dairy and your blood pressure problems will go away!" so I'm like hmmmm. I don't add salt to any food, or very rarely, and I don't drink in ridiculous amounts... any tips on what on earth I could do to lower it? I'm wondering if its a side effect of my high stress job...can't change that :S
I think I need to go back to the doc though because I get this feeling like my heart skips a beat from time to time, and I've been noticing it more, and apparently thats not normal so I might get it checked out.

Mine is low. Sometimes I get dizzy when I stand up too fast or sometimes I even get these weird blurry psychedelic colors in the center of my vision so I can't see. My doctor told me to eat lots of salt and drink gaterade when it gets really bad. Otherwise I'm doing good. ;)

I've always had a relatively strong heart and good blood pressure and pulse. Though I'm fit, i'm not exactly the most healthest horse in the stable - but I'm getting there

90/58
Glad to know I'm not the only one with low blood pressure. The nurses always look at the machine like it just gave them winning lottery numbers or something. I was beginning to think they never saw anyone with lower than normal blood pressure.
It seems to be somewhat common among vegans. Do y'all think it's something about our diet that causes the drop? Or maybe we just tend to have leaner body mass? I can't imagine we're all health freaks... Plus, I would think that a healthy diet would lead to "normal" blood pressure, not low blood pressure.

I am sure that following a vegan diet helps. I'm a vegetarian (try very hard to follow vegan diet tho) for 10 months. I have always have low blood pressure; and I never gave a damn what I ate either... so I guess for some genetics plays a big role too!
I remember the nurses telling me my numbers (which I don't remember) and a few times they had to retake it, and they always tell me it's low. One lady told me "almost too low" - I asked what the heck she meant and she just asked if I had any problems. I said no, and she said "I guess you'll be fine then" what? nice reassurance there!
