Earth Day VW Gift Exchange!

PACKAGES MUST BE SHIPPED NO LATER THAN APRIL 12, 2010 (Monday)! That leaves 10 days for packages to get to where they need to go. If you are an INTERNATIONAL shipper.... please adjust your ship out date accordingly.

I see you found my recipe reviews, AC. I didn't want to put them up earlier in case that somehow left a clue before my package was delivered.
that book is amazing! how creative! I love the cut-out pictures....I would have never thought of that in a million years! You rock OWW!
ha. well, I tried to do cut and paste things on the computer so I could merge the pics together there and print them out, but my technical skills failed big time, so I had to resort to the scissors and glue version of cut and paste : /
When the doggie treats were finished baking, I gave my husband a piece of one that broke to try. He liked it. Some time later, I'm packaging them up to send and he gets all sad and says 'aww, are you sending those to AC too?'
I said I actually baked them for Olen and he got all confused, not having realised they were meant to be for dogs. Even though I'd asked him if he wanted to try a bit of a dog biscuit... because he'd seen thhf's recipe up on the computer and just assumed I called it a dog biscuit because in the photo they were all shaped like dogs.
ah, poo.....I was hoping Theo would post pictures of the stuff I sent her....how selfish of me :)
I have taken the pictures! Been to busy to breathe...about to get onto posting them asap :)

Foodie Goodies:
- 3 Types of Curry powder including green which is so exciting because I can never find green curry paste without shrimp in it, and had no idea green curry powder existed!
- Mexican Oregano (already sampled and very tasty)
- Chilli pineapple snacks with a warning that they might possibly be nasty (haven't tried these yet!)
- Eco planet "cheesy" crackers (have already eaten most of these, they are AMAZING! They taste all creamy and cheesy mmmm)
- Peppermint tea
- 2 Airheads candy bars (Thanks Andy for your contribution!)
- Theo mint chocolate (I absolutely love that there is Theo chocolate out there and that it's vegan and that it comes in mint! It got me through my assignment yesterday!)
- Garlic flavour rice noodle soup instant meal (Have also eaten this, I swear I just dived into this parcel with an open mouth as soon as it arrived hehe )

Also included was:
- A really awesome wallet/pouch made out of recycled billboards
- A dinosaur shaped sauce/dressing container which I LOVE and am going to start taking to hold liquid things in my packed lunches :D
- A beautiful book handcrafted out of tree bark from Nepal - it's almost too lovely to use! I will have to think of a suitably special use for it.
- Another spiral bound hardcover notebook for writing in (You catered to my stationery nerdyness perfectly!)
- The China Study
- Vegan with a Vengeance (By the time I got to the books I actually started SQUEALING, I am so so so excited to get stuck into them both!!!!!)

And finally, in that lovely box you see in the photos are a whole bunch of handmade magnets! These are my absolute favourite part of the gift, I have no idea how you made them so I think you are amazingly talented, and the pictures are not too scary for me they suit my aesthetic perfectly!

seriously, I don't know where I'd be without vegweb. And not just in a how-would-I-measure-my-stuff kind of way.
All of my really close friends are either on the other side of the world or too busy to even contact, and no one does support/encouragement like the vegweb peeps

Amazing, amazing package. Isn't it so silly how we all (well, maybe there are some weirdos out there who don't..) get so anxious, but it all works out, and it's all fabulous? I guess that's part of what makes it fabulous...so much care and (good) worry. This has been my favorite exchange, all around. So much love, care, time, thought, and happiness! And we haven't had too many issues.

Okay, so I thought llg would be my person because she guaranteed me a package and I thought that the only way a person could guarantee something is if they did it themselves. But, she gave me to the ever reliable gift-giver uS!
I picked up my mail on my way home last night and had two package pick-up slips. I thought one might be a duplicate, but I was wrong. I got two gift exchange packages!
underSARAH sent a HAUL! She's got me covered with this note: "GTFO if your name isn't on this package. Karma will beat you down! Kthxbai." HAHAhahaha!!! Look at the cool orange and green paper grass packing material. She picked out all of the pink and purple grass pieces so they wouldn't offend my eyes. Awesome!

Here's all the food-related goodies. I got two packages of sugar cookies, dried corn, licorice, a German chocolate cake Jocolat bar, peppermint mate herbal tea, a really cool rolling garlic chopper, and small animal shaped cookie cutters (now I want to make animal crackers).

I also got two packages of stationary and a cow pen, an orange and black pouch, a really good smelling honeysuckle candle, a great big orange sunflower that's on display in my cubicle, and a cool mix CD of small bands she's seen. I'm listening to the CD right now. It's cool and eclectic.

Here's my play pile. I got a foam tiger visor (soooo uS!), Groucho Marx glasses, glow-in-the-dark knitting needles, a painted letter, a paper mache cupcake, and a HUMBOLDT penguin. She also painted a canvas for me that's in the first picture of the haul, but didn't make it in the smaller shots. uS cut out the ingredient list for ginger chews that I found in my package that I though randomly fell in, but the cupcake is like a cookie jar and was stuffed with chews (my co-worker figured that out for me).

I got a Seeds of Life oak tree! How freaking cool is that?!? I live on an slope with southern exposure and oak treas LOVE my hillside.
