VegWeb penpals!

In an effort to continue the love and community of VegWeb, I am starting a new topic for those interested in penpals. Some of you have shown interest (myself included) in exchanging letters, cards, and whatevers with your fellow VegWeb pals.

Obviously, the gift exchanges will continue (which I loved, by the way). I'm also participating in some mini-gift exchanges with my friends I've met thru VegWeb. Anyone interested in the penpal idea?

-Josh

Awesome! I'll keep this thread up for a few days. If we continue to have interest, we'll try to figure out a way to organize it all. :)

Hmmm. . .  I wouldn't want to end up with too many veg*n  pen pals. HA! . . like that's going to happen.  I don't have any.  :(
And I want to be just a little picky. . . and I don't want to be rejected.

I just want to exchange emails with smart, creative ladies of any age (I AM married). Let's see. . . it would be nice if they liked nature, exercise, volleyball, music, riding motorcycles, unicycling, sailing; are culturally and religiously tolerant and value compassion, peace and kindness. I don't want anyone with an IQ more than 3% above mine (too intimidating). That should narrow it down ;)

If you meet most or all of those criteria and want to be an email buddy then send me a message.  :)

Good grief rswhitaker, he said pen pals...it sounds like you just put up a personal ad.  LOL

Anyway, I keep up with you guys here and through FB...are you on FB Josh?......and that's good enough for me right now.  But it's a great idea, I just don't do the snail mail thing and card thing well, so I'd best not committ to that.

I did a gift exchange here once and should do that more.

;D True.

I'm not on Facebook. I deleted my Facebook and MySpace in December of '09 and will never go back.

I'm looking forward to the next gift exchange.

I think it's a nice idea as long as writing once or maybe twice a month would be O.K. I always love getting letters/cards. It sure beats bills, lol! :)

Oh well, I'll just keep up with your awesomeness here (mostly lurking).  I deleted Myspace long ago, but love FB..it's done me no wrong. (Plus it gives me a place to host my fabulous cooking pictures.)

Ms. abrimmer - Very cool.

Mr. Tweety - Lurking, huh? lol! Well, feel free to talk to me. I'm always interested in meeting new peeps. And, of course, feel free to read my boring posts. Haha

That was the joke. Was it too dry?  ???

I'd love to do it! As long as it's real mail and not e-mail. It's too easy for me to forget about checking my email. I always see little weird things at work and think of someone on VW, but then I think people would think me a creep for randomly sending them a mango cutter or whatever.

Yes ma'am. For those who would be involved - we'd be looking to send old school pen-to-paper. Orrrr chisel to stone tablet. :P

LOL.....I'm all over cookbook forum almost daily, but mostly lurk elsewhere.  Over the last 15 years or so I've moved from spewing out my wisdom all the time to mostly lurking and listening, and now I find I'm the oldest one here that regularly posts (when did that happen???) so I keep my mouth shut so as not to run the young people away.  But I do make rare appearances here and there.  I've been off for the last six days, so I'm making one of my rare appearances.  LOL

lol! Well, you'll find I don't say much/post that often. I never have opinions about anything and never try to offer words of wisdom or love to the VegWeb world. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Ok! I think the majority rules and agrees to stick with the original plans. Meaning, we will be making this a 'snail mail' penpal exchange.

So.. With the gift exchanges, everyone sends their info to one centralized person, that person draws names, and everyone is assigned a partner. This gives an element of surprise.

Do you want to do it that way? If not, please give me some feedback. Does anyone else want to join?
