Tanya And Sarah - is Tanya being boycotted?

So I have a quick question.
Sarah Kramer and Tanya Barnard wrote two cookbooks together (How it all Vegan, Garden of Vegan), I emphasize together. Then Sarah wrote one by herself (La Dolce Vegan) because Tanya went to school and was too busy or something like that.
Why on earth is everyone now talking as if the first two books were solely Sarah's creation? Did Tanya do something to piss off the vegan community?? I never hear her name mentioned anymore.
I'm kind of upset by this because if I wrote a cookbook with someone and they went off by themselves afterwards but took all the credit for even my work, I would be mad.
I have no idea and I try not to invent problems where problems may not exist. Have you read anything from Tanya Bernard that indicates that she's upset that Sarah Kramer seems to be getting all the credit from the books? If you haven't and you don't know these two women personally, let it go. Get a life and problems of your own. I don't say this to be mean. But really, if there's a problem, then it's for Ms. Kramer and Ms. Bernard to solve. If you get upset over everything that you perceive as an injustice, you'll give yourself ulcers and a crazy brain!
Peace,

TT - I think she's talking about vegwebber's referral in a couple of threads to Sarah Kramer exclusively when identifying book authors.

OK, but my advice not to find problems when none exist stands. If posters can remember to refer to the authors of those books as Kramer & Barnard then they should but it's not really anything Veganna should be gettiing herself upset over! She did say:
"I'm kind of upset by this because if I wrote a cookbook with someone and they went off by themselves afterwards but took all the credit for even my work, I would be mad."
As the hippsters used to say (and may still say it, I don't keep up with slang very well), chill!
I wondered that too! Not that Tanya did something to make people mad, but I wondered why Sara got so much publicity and such. *shrug* It doesnt really matter that much, but I was just curious about that as well. Maybe tanya is shy, mayyybe she was just kind of an assistant, im sure there are soo many possiblities.
I saw in your profile that you go to Evergreen! How do you like it? I've heard mixed reviews, I also heard they started using grades. CRazy! I have a friend from my college who transferred to Evergreen a couple years ago to study bio fuels.
VegAnna - When I finally bought a copy of VCTOTW, I was surprised there were two authors. I only ever heard about Isa Chandra in connection with the book. I think that sheeple give a attention to the most dominant personality.
TinTexas - with "upset" I don't mean that I sit at home crying or am angry. It's more of a frustration that people leave out one of the authors. I think your post was a little harsh, this is a board to talk about issues, so if I can't talk about something I want to talk about without having people tell me that I shouldn't worry about things, then vegweb is apparently not what I thought it was.
humboldt_honey - that could be it. I never noticed it for any other cookbooks, but that's because I own "The Garden of Vegan" and that's how I noticed.
hiimkelsi - I really like Evergreen. It has its quirks, but I like the teaching/learning style. They haven't started using grades and I don't think they ever will unless someone forces them to. Bio-fuels, ... we learned how to make bio diesel in Chemistry, haha :P
I always refer to them as Sarah's books, even though two of them were co-written with Tanya. Part of that is laziness, part of it is that I don't really care. I'm not trying to discredit Tanya's work but, honestly, what does it matter? People need to lighten up
Okay. Well if no one else is on board with you, VegAnna, I get your question. I guess your question is answered - people don't care about credit for labor.
huh, thats kinda weird that nobdy cares. I remember looking through these books at the book store and seeing two women on the introduction page...I never knew two of them wrote it...humm...I get upset when I don't get credit for something as simple as co-purchasing a gift for somebody. I cant imagine how I would feel if I wrote a stinking book and my friend got all the credit!
To that end, I need to pick up a copy of How it all vegan by Sarah Kramer and Tanya Barnard. I had not even heard of their vegan garden book...I will have to look into that one too.
Also, I'm a little bothered by so many comments about just letting it go and to stop asking. She had a legitimate question....Did the author do something which would merit being punished by the vegan community? We have some pretty silly posts on this board ( Is semen vegan, does your poop float, etc.) This is not really that big a deal. IMHO
To my knowledge, she did nothing to upset the vegan community. She just wanted to pursue other options in life.

Veganna:
Sorry if it came off harsh. I did take upset to mean more than just frustration. I still think that with problems that are more personal for the people involved and that I or anyone else is a stranger to, that we should let it go. I think Bill Clinton has treated Hillary horribly but I've never before mentioned it in a public forum because my opinion doesn't count for a thimble of spit. If you think that you can make a difference for the better in these ladies lives, go right ahead! ;)
Vegheadzealia: "Did the author do something..." is a question to Google. If someone here knew, they probably wouldn't say. Just like Paris Hilton never came out and said why she got so p*ssed off at Nicole Richie and wasn't her bffl for a while.
Anna,
I think you are on to something. I just checked out their website govegan.net and you are right! Tanya is nowhere to be seen and Sarah is taking all the credit for everything. Considering that their books were one half cookbook, the other half photo album--that is very weird. Hopefully, they are still friends.
Or maybe all that togetherness got on their nerves and they needed to take a break.
jkl
TinTexas - no grudges, I see your point :)
JKL - I never thought about that. Maybe it's Sarah and Tanya that are having an issue with each other. Maybe the fact that people refer to all three books as Sarah's is because she is publicized and Tanya is not (especially on the website you mentioned), maybe they really were getting on each other's nerves or decided not to be friends anymore for some other reason.
They do say "familiarity breeds contempt." Maybe it did.
Yeah, the TEENY blurb about her on govegan.net just said she was working on a nursing degree, I believe. But it sounded snippy. No "we miss her very terribly" or anything. Makes me quite sad.
