I took this picture last year on Thanksgiving...the colours were at peak!
I just love how BLUE the sky is! Does anyone else notice this? I was hiking yesterday and the sky just looked so gorgeous.
I also love the holidays, apples, stuff with cinnamon, toasted pumpkin seeds, and the cooler weather.
I love pretty much everything about fall! Crisp mornings--especially when you start to see your breath, pumpkin ANYTHING, changing leaves, warm foods (soups, chili, etc.), being able to leave our windows open at night and waking up to a chilly bedroom and having to stay under the covers for just 5 more minutes. Oh, how I love fall!
I love fall. I used to love summer, but the older I get the less I like the heat. So Spring and Fall are my favs now.
As for my fav things about it. The colors, the fresh air smell (Why don't we get this in the summer???), cooking comfort food (soup and chili), and Fall means that snowboarding season is coming ... YAY!

Definitely, definitely the crisp smoky "fall" smell of burning leaves.
I did not realize it does not make this smell everywhere. When I lived in Houston, I kept waiting for it to smell like fall. September....October....November....no fall smell. Not sure if this is because it is a huge city or because there seem to be 2 seasons there: summer (9 months) and coolish monsoon. (December, January, February).
Regardless, loving the crispy fall smell here.
The absence of heat.
Pumpkin in everything. Yay.
I love fall for all the reasons everyone else has already said. What I call it is the "cozy factor." :)

Being able to use the oven again without suffocating
And therefore:
Baked potatoes and yams
Nut Roast
Hearty soups and stews
Enjoying hot coffee and tea again without sweating through my clothes
We don't have a colour change here--and I MISS it. :-\
Fall in Michigan is the BEST! I love the smell of burning leaves in the air, pumpkin everything, picking apples, the leaves changing colors, corn mazes and haunted houses, carmel apples, pulling out the fleece blankets on crisp nights....oh I could just go on and on!

i live in florida now and really miss the fall of the north east. my favorite parts were always the cool air in you lungs and being able to leave the house in just a big sweater and feeling perfectly comfortable - no need for a jacket quite yet. also the smell of the leaf decay (i know that sounds gross, but i realy think that's where the fall smell comes from!). oh, and pumpkin anything, of course! :)

I'm sorry to break it to you but there is dairy in the pumpkin spice concentrate unless they have reformulated it since last fall. (Or maybe the US version is slightly diff. than the Canadian?)

i also like how it smells. October is by far my fav month in the year. i love that i can make big buckets of soup. yay!
