my co worker has a pen pal from Austrailia, she isn't vegan or vegetarian, but she is trying to think of things to buy her and her young daughter that she can't get there. The penpal sent my friend a toy kangaroo for her daughter, some candy, etc.
any ideas?
A ruler with only inches on it, bootleg Obama merch, MOONSHINE.

Is the toy kangaroo like a toy dog - an extra small version of the original? Because the postage to send over a stuffed animal we can get in the States seems a bit insane.
They used to sell Obama beer at BevMo. Make a drink pack and send that with the moonshine. They drink at a younger age elsewhere in the world. It'll be fine.

thank you aussie!
Ingredients and recipes for decent Mexican food (keep in mind there are very strict customs regulations here, so everything needs to be in sealed packages/cans...no fresh fruit or vegs, no meat products, no homemade goodies in zip lock bags, etc). Good Mexican food is the only thing I really miss from the USA.
Some other (not necessarily vegan) ideas...
cherry coke
canned pumpkin with a recipe for pumpkin pie/bread/cake (pumpkin is mostly eaten as a vegetable here, not as a dessert)
some type of candy with peanut butter (like Reese's)
any local, unique foods, like prickly pear jam or a local hot sauce
a toy squirrel. They're like an exotic animal over here. ::)
And for the record, I have access to moonshine. :-X It's not just an American thing. Rum used to be the national currency.
