new vegan finds!

i'd like to start a thread of new things you happen across or discover that are vegan. i browse around in the grocery store quite a bit, reading labels, and sometimes find some pretty interesting and surprising vegan foods!
so anyway, one i found this weekend is....banana babies! they're from diana's bananas and the dark chocolate ones are vegan. they're just frozen bananas dipped in chocolate, but..mmmm. the chocolate is a tiny bit waxy, but all in all, i thought it was a pretty good find.
also, many of marie calendar's fruit pies are vegan as well, which is awesome for a yummy, fatty dessert when i don't feel like making one, haha...
anyone else been finding something cool and yummy?
I saw vegan berry Skittles with my eyes!!! Unfortunately, they were part of one of those huge multipacks that had Starbursts in it too, so I did not purchase it.
I wonder if they're gonna switch Starbursts over to gelatin free too..
I just found out that one of the local pizza places (with delivery) has vegan cheese!
how is this possible when we don't even have that in chicago?!!? chicago!!! the closest we get is 1 whole foods that makes teese pizza with uptons naturals sausage on it. but they don't deliver and are only open whole foods store hours. jeezus chicago catch up to freaking montana already!!

;D
Well..I had no idea until I saw it on ppk! I had their pizza before going vegan, too. I'll report back after we try it. It seems like it'll be kinda expensive..everything has an individual price, then you add it up...but I guess it beats wasting money on Papa John's, or some crap.
that is crazy. great! now i gotta go to montana to try their freaking pizza...

Thats what i was thinking!
i saw berry skittles in the vending machine by the laundry room, but i don't wanna get them in case they're the old gelatin type... do the gelatin-free have different packaging from before (looking at it from the front)?

tee hee that made me laugh - what else would you see them with.....your feet!?! sorry - lame joke I know.
So your skittles are definitely vegan....the UK ones aren't due to, um, can't remember but some colouring. Gelatin free- yes, vegan - no.
however UK starburst I beileve are vegan. I did email mars about this once but can't find the email they sent me.

Yes! if you can see it. in the bottom left corner of the bag it has a little green box thing that says how many calories are in it. i'll try to find a picture

They had the little green calorie box on a big bag of regular Skittles that were not gelatin free :\ But all the small bags with the calorie thing seem to be ok..
Does your vending machine get refilled often? If it does, they'll probably be ok, since the only gelatin-y ones are old.
Yeah, i havent seen any new small bags with it on them.
I've been hungry for ravioli for a long time, and we bought three packages on sale today (still a bit pricey). I'd never really looked at this brand before (rising moon organics), but they have several vegan (labeled) kinds of ravioli. I'm going to add them to the meatless review thread, and will report back after having some (probably tonight!). :>

Oh, I used to buy those all the time....they're so good, but you're right, very pricey....but I haven't gotten any since I've learned how to make my own ravioli....

What pasta recipe do you use?

I change it up each time I make it, but you can read my reviews.....
time consuming, but totally worth it!
at dominicks (which i think is called safeway in other states) i found that their safeway brand Organic Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips are vegan. the regular store brand isn't though - just the organic.
also, they have this Eat Right line of food all over the store, some of which is geared towards kids and they have this tri-color shapes pasta that looks like different kinds of bugs! i had to buy it! i always thought that spirals and shapes mac & cheese always tasted better than the regular noodle kind..

Agreed
nutrilicious vegan donut holes at whole foods. they came in 3 flavors (i think) and were about 4.50 a package. im pretty sure there was vanilla, chocolate/carob, and carrot cake...
i can vouch for those donut holes! any flavor! esp microwaved for a few seconds!
my trader joe's now has baking soda in those little canisters (like baking powder) so I don't have to get those little boxes anymore....way easier to store this way! yaya!
Don't know if anyone has posted about these but.....
Amy's Organic Cakes (Orange & Chocolate)
I've only tried the orange and it's pretty good. It brought back a childhood memory, when I was little my friend's mother would always purchase those Sara Lee frozen pound cakes, which we would eat with vanilla ice cream. Those were good times!!!
It's convenience is awesome. It's price on the other hand is ok....$6. I will be trying out the chocolate one but I'm not in too much of a rush to get to it...
Anyone else tried these?
