Anybody ever have this? It seems that with where I am at the only way to get it is to order it online. I live Vegan Gourmet but it doesn't melt well, and I really want a nice oowey Gooowey pizza. Is it worth ordering online? There is a Whole Foods that carries it about 30 min drive from here, but I called them and they are out of it, and have been for a month now.
Daiya is awesome. It makes a great pizza. The first comment my wife and sone made of it was, "it's gooey".
It comes in 5 lb bags and has a short shelf lif but it freezes well. I break it down to 1 lb Ziploc bags and put all but 1 in the freezer. Just thaw the next bag in the fridge before use. I really missed pizza until I found Daiya. I'm lucky to have a local source.
This sounds yummy. I just ordered some from my co-op. I cant wait to try it.
I bought some from Pangea a while back. It's good, but I realized that I don't miss cheese as much as I thought I did.
Daiya is the best of the vegan cheeses I have tried so far. I like the Italian flavor. It melts well. Great on pizza, quesadillas and sprinkled on chili beans.
I don't have a source for it either. I did see that they are right now in the process of a retail launch, so I assume within a few months it will be more available. I can wait to see if at my local HFS. The FYH and all I find here, and I don't really like it. It seems to retain all of the things I don't like about cheese. Maybe I'm to the point now where cheese don't appear to me. It stinks like dirty socks or something.
I've had daiya italian on zpizza. While I enjoy being able to order pizza with vegan cheeze, Daiya is probably not my fave for pizza. It's super creamy and gooey and sticks to the roof of your mouth. My fave vegan cheeze for pizza might be Cheezly; unfortunately, I have to order it. I like the Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet fine and can get it locally, so I usually use it (I don't have any issues with it not melting.).

Or just looking around for a second, or searching...
Daiya is the shiz. I order it to veganessentials. First I ordered the smallest portion of "cheddar" flavor, and this last time I ordered 1 lb. bag each of both flavors.
I have to say, it melts beautifully (and it doesn't take 40 minutes to "melt" and then turn hard as a rock like other "chesses.") It's even good microwaved into quesadillas (better on a griddle, but hey, when at work...). I still want to try a Daiya grilled "cheese" sandwich...hmmm, maybe this weekend :)>>>
ALL Whole Foods are going to start carrying it in retail packaging! It rolled out on April 1st! SO EXCITING and not an april fools joke, thank goodness!!
Now if I could just convice Whole Foods to open a store down this way. The local HFS will probably stock it if I ask though. They are pretty good about that.
