Best Vegan Cheese????

I once bought some vegan shredded "cheddar", I don't remeber the brand, but it scared me from trying to find any decent vegan cheese as it tasted horrible.
So before I attempt to buy vegan cheese again what brand might you suggest??
THANKS!
DAIYA
It melts, and it even gets all stretchy/gooey at the right temp (great for pizza!). And it actually tastes pretty similar to the real thing, from what I remember.
Everyone on here votes daiya.
Or at least they better.
But really, try it. It is the best. I've had people not believe me when I tell them its not actual cheese.
Not a Daiya fan. I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying it, though. I like Follow Your Heart a bit better, but most of the time I either go cheeseless or use a homemade fake cheese sauce.
My non-vegan cheese loving teenage son happily ate my left over Daiya mac and cheese yesterday. :) That is a pretty resounding endorsement.

Daiya, hands down. Just make sure to melt it - it's not good cold, right out of the package. but excellent on pizza, nachos, burritos, etc. Even my omni friends love it!!
Daiya is great for most things. The key is a little goes a long way. It gets really fake tasting if you use too much. It makes the best grilled cheese! I want to try Dr Cow, but I would have to order it.
If you're fresh into veganism, skip the analogs. Nothing will taste just like real cheese. Even the best vegan cheese tastes like crappy, processed American cheese. With that being said, Daiya and Follow Your Heart are both good. Teese is also good.
Daiya is the best but I also really like Teese. I've never tried Follow Your Heart but I've heard a lot of good things about it.
