I've got about 15 lbs I could let you have, free gratis and for nothing...
Srsly..."super food" is probably referring to nutrient-rich foods as opposed to calorie-rich foods. You get more bang for your buck in terms of health. But then, people are always coming out with a new "wonder food" that's gonna change your life... ::)

:-D true true, I had baby weight I think I lost most of it, at first I was trying to lose all of it. But now that I look back I was happier w/ the weight all.
Nuts--like almonds and walnuts are natural super-foods with a lot of calories!
I try to eat a decent amount of fats every day, especially since I work a physically demanding job & often for 12 hours a day, and lose weight easily. Usually I'll make stuff like hummus, or guacamole, or just add some oil to whatever I'm cooking, use salad dressing, etc. And I totally avoid things that say "low in fat" or "fat free" on them.

I wish I had this problem. ;D
Me too, SB.
I misunderstood the lady in the HFS and was taking two soupspoons of Flax Oil per day instead of two teaspoons (so that's like 3 times the recommended amount). And gained weight all over the place.
There's tofu and soy products
Nuts and seeds
Nut butters
Avocados
Palm oil
Bananas
All of which are packed with healthy, but numerous, calories!
And of course there's the wicked good Tofu Chocolate pudding on this site...
Super foods are great. I had an old roommate that was obsessed w/ them, had multiple books on them, and ate them all the time. this isn't a complete list, but a few of them are spinach, pumpkin, walnuts, acai berries... basically, they contain a super high levels of vitamins/antioxidants, more than you'd get from eating other foods. Google it, you'll get about a billion hits. But as far as gaining weight, vegan cupcakes should do the trick ;)b And eat a peanut butter sandwich every day, an old coworker of mine did that, she gained some weight pretty quickly.
I hate the fact that this is making me not want to eat peanut butter sandwiches....or the other things that are mentioned. BUT, the force is not that strong.....I'm going to make some grilled avocado sandwiches!
Well, I don't guarantee it's the healthiest way, but it certainly is delicious... Here's what you do, spend about an hour a day on VegWeb, looking for the perfect recipe, make a batch/pan of it and devour it. Daily. Works wonders.
Ha! That, and baking from the Joy of Vegan Baking cookbook. Guaranteed weight gain.
i too, have been trying to gain weight. (so far, no luck) but im enjoying a lot of pancakes with fun toppings (peanut butter, chocolate chips, bananas, blueberries, etc) cookie and bread recipes off vegweb and other vegan cookbooks, fun pasta dishes, different flavors of nut butter, and i cannot forget to mention non-dairy ice cream!!! its so much fun. i have tried so many flavors! ;D
peanut butter, avocados, nuts, carb ridden foods, healthy desserts (not with processed shit), and cut back on your activity!
Cant cut back on the activity I have an active 10 month old who is trying to learn how to walk. Thanks for the advice though :)>>>
It's interesting to read about these so-called super foods. I'm amazed that goji berries weren't on that NYT list. But mm, beets and cabbage...
