What are you sick of?
I am so sick of hearing about gluten-free this and gluten-free that. Ugh! You google things and you see "gluten-free" bread, gluten-free muffins, gluten-free pizza! I get spam emails for gluten-free recipes. And it is getting harder and harder to find wheat gluten at the store. I go to the natural food store there is a whole isle called "gluten-free". So I must look like a freak when I am checking out with my bag of Bob Mill's Wheat Gluten.
Peanut free schools. As if peanuts are some terrible thing brought to earth from satin himself. What kid didn't grow up on peanut butter and jelly sandwichs? And kids can't even take PB&J sandwichs to school anymore because there MAY be that one kid with a peanut allergy that MIGHT eat some of the sandwich and get a reaction.
Use up all the hot water. Here at work there is a container to put water in and it heats it up. Every morning I fill it up as I am waiting for my computer to boot up, turn it on then come back to my office and check my email. Half of the time, when I get back out to the breakroom to get my cup of decaf tea, that container is hot, but empty. Somebody used all the water and never refilled it. Why do you think I put the water on to heat on the first place?! >:( Just annooys the crap out of me! I even put more water in there than I need because I know other people also want hot water but does anybody do that for me??? NOOOOO. I miss the midwest, and even upstate NY. Here on Long Island people are the ruddest I have ever seen!
What are you just sick of? >:(
Oooo thought of another-
When people are super concerned about the environment and being "green" but don't think twice about eating meat...
Jake, here's another one: "Documentaries" that "denounce" terrible environmental devastation taking place in one or another country and then giving 80% of the airtime to officials and politicians of that country who simply pass the buck around...no one is responsible, everyone should do something...but nothing will be done because it's all about the money that is needed for the remedy but is being shoveled into their own pockets.
Case in point: Senegal. (This from the French doc I watched yesterday.) The beaches (ie the land) is disappearing at the rate of 250 meters a year, OK? All the way around, which is several km if you add it up. Houses, buildings, etc. are swept away. Does this make anyone think? I guess so, they certainly talk. Is any action being taken? No. Because it's always someone else who's responsible. They should do something.
Goodbye, Dakar, goodbye.

yeah i heard about that (not that specific documentary, but that situation) after talking with some girls that are from Senegal. I just with I could take action against shit that angers me, but when I have tried to mobalize something at school NO ONE is interested or dedicated. So, at the end of the day I have to reach out and drive an hour or two to meet up with activists that are true to themselves and their convictions. Cant wait to go to a school that actually has chill kids that want to do something (ie: start a food not bombs chapter or something)
Mine are related to one anouther:
I'm sick of Ohio. 26 years here is plenty for me, thanks. Just about any other state would do at this point.
I sick of not being able to find full time work. Why did I bother to bust my ass working 3 internships (3 all together, 2 at a time) while going to school anyway? Aparently that's still not enough experience for a full time graphic design job. grrr. >:(
I'm sick of it being hot in December.
I'm sick of it being hot in December.
I am too!!!!!!!!
I'm sick of Florida. I wanna be in either Mexico or Texas!!
I'm sick of not being able to live in my house. (In Mexico) Why did we spend the money building it if we can't even live in it?
I'm sick of driving!! In between picking up and dropping off my mom, her doctors app, my dads doctors app, and taking them where they need to go I am so sick of driving!!
Ohhh and since i'm #6 out of 6 kids I'm sick of being the only one to take responsibility of our parents just because I'm the youngest. You know I have a family too!!
I know this is going to sound bad, but it's how I feel. I'm sick of how fast we are breeding. Yes, I'm sick of babies. I said it.lol I mean really, slow down people!

^^^ I'm with this guy
I always feel like i'm weird for not wanting kids and thinking people shouldn't be having kids... maybe some of it is from living in the south, my aunt has 7 kids ranging from 4 to 28, 3 of those kids have kids giving her 6 total grandkids, oh and she filed for bankruptcy 10 years and is deep in debt again- people don't realize kids cost $$ (and time and responsibility, etc etc)
And that children are not toys, trophies, or your validation as a human being. They are people. They don't stay little, helpless and cute. Everybody here swoons over pregnant women and tiny babies, but the minute the kid starts to walk he's a problem.
It's tough to be childless by choice in an officially Catholic country. People act like there's something wrong with me just because I know I don't want to breed. It got to the place (accusing looks, and sometimes accusing words: "You're using birth control, aren't you!") that my husband would pipe up chirpily, "Oh, didn't you know? I'm impotent!" (he wasn't.) My worth as an adult human does not rest in my reproductive capacity.
*rant off*
I agree with the above three posters.
the global population of humans is so far out of hand as it is....
I'm at that age where most of the women I graduated with are popping out kids because it's apparently the thing to do, regardless of the responsibility involved.
I think I'll just NOT contribute to the overpopulation problem for a good long while, thankYouverymuch. Nothing wrong with taking care of myself--and perhaps a few adopted rat friends--before deciding to create another life to care for.
hubby and I went through that whole debate recently...because we want kids, but there's no denying overpopulation. We decided that when we're ready, we will adopt or become foster parents to some older children... you know, the ones that are too old to be considered "cute" by most people looking to adopt.
I guess I'm okay if a couple wants to have one or two kids because I understand the urge to want to create a life, have your own family, etc...but when people just keep popping out like 4-5-7-11...it's a problem....I mean...you need to stop.
When people throw ciggarette butts still lit out their window. Think about the earth AND the cyclists people!
I had to stop my car and put out a fire once because someone did that. Flung a lit cigarette onto mulch in the middle of a drought in summer.
I agree with the babies post. I have one an d only want one. I'm sick of everyone telling me when I'm going to have another one just because my husband is not my sons 'real' father and that I should stop being selfish and give hom a kid too. Whatever he knew when he married me I don't wnat anymore kids of my own. I am open to adoption but, as for more babies coming out of my body NOWAY!!

THANK GOD! I thought the elephant in the room was never going to be addressed. but yeah i hate babies too haha. we are over populated as it is.

LOL, I thought I was the only one that felt this way. Every time I see my relatives someone else in the family has had anouther baby. They love to make me hold them and take dumb pictures. Meanwhile I'm terrified that I am going to drop the poor kid. Just becuase I'm female doesn't mean I like babies!
Speaking of babies, I mentioned how many kids my aunt and her kids have, well my sis and I don't have any (she's 16... so thank god) and we don't want any, but it seems like the grandparents and other family members give them so much more attention b/c of their babies. It's not always good attention, but still, my sis and I are kinda overlooked. That's the price you pay for being a responsible young adult... I know that's kinda dumb and kinda selfish but I wanted to say it because basically I'm sick of them getting so much attention for stuff like that or getting married young, etc
I am sick of cookbooks - especially vegan and raw cookbooks - that are solely dedicated to recipes that are useless for anything but cooking on special occasions. I am sad that I do not like my new raw cookbook. I am trying to like it... I really am... especially at $39 bucks for it.

I hear ya. The shittiest part is when you do get attention, you get bombarded with the constant "so when are you going to make some grandchildren for us?" I got so tired of hearing it. My dad actually started crying one night(alcohol was involved) when he couldn't convince me that I my wife and I want children. I felt bad,....but not that bad. A lot of people have a hard time wraping their heads around the idea of someone living their lives without the desire to procreate.
We'll we're taught that the cycle of life goes like this:
you're born
go to school
go to college, maybe
get married
get a career
have kids
grow old
watch your kids have kids
get older
be a burden on your kids
die
Or something like that. So if you miss one of those steps there's obviously something wrong with you...
