What are you sick of?

I am so sick of hearing about gluten-free this and gluten-free that.  Ugh!  You google things and you see "gluten-free" bread, gluten-free muffins, gluten-free pizza!  I get spam emails for gluten-free recipes.  And it is getting harder and harder to find wheat gluten at the store.  I go to the natural food store there is a whole isle called "gluten-free".  So I must look like a freak when I am checking out with my bag of Bob Mill's Wheat Gluten.

Peanut free schools.  As if peanuts are some terrible thing brought to earth from satin himself.  What kid didn't grow up on peanut butter and jelly sandwichs?  And kids can't even take PB&J sandwichs to school anymore because there MAY be that one kid with a peanut allergy that MIGHT eat some of the sandwich and get a reaction.

Use up all the hot water.  Here at work there is a container to put water in and it heats it up.  Every morning I fill it up as I am waiting for my computer to boot up, turn it on then come back to my office and check my email.  Half of the time, when I get back out to the breakroom to get my cup of decaf tea, that container is hot, but empty.  Somebody used all the water and never refilled it.  Why do you think I put the water on to heat on the first place?!  >:(  Just annooys the crap out of me!  I even put more water in there than I need because I know other people also want hot water but does anybody do that for me??? NOOOOO.  I miss the midwest, and even upstate NY.  Here on Long Island people are the ruddest I have ever seen!

What are you just sick of? >:(

What's weird is the "gluten-free" labelling of things you never would expect to have gluten in them anyway. Like grapejuice, wines, fresh salad vegetables chopped. I certainly HOPE my prechopped lettuce is gluten-free.  8-)

I was reading on World's Healthiest Foods website about oats.  They do have gluten but a different type than wheat.  Recent studies have shown that some with sensitivity to wheat gluten maybe able to eat oats.

The gluten free labeling has become like fat-free and low carb.  Somethings are naturally gluten free.  So, companies slap a label on it to get more people to buy it.

I do want to add three things  I am sick of hearing.  One is low carb dieters that insist humans have had high carbohydrate diets only in the last few decades.  Glad they are excited about their diet and it worls well for them.  However, this statement does not match up with historical records nor archeological evidence.  Most people, at least since the Neolithic/Bromze Age, have subsisted on mainly grains or some type of startchy seed or vegetable.  Second is people thinking being vegetarian is unpractical because meat tastes so good.  Third is the thought that riding a bicycle, walking or taking a bus or the train is also not feisable.

I'm sick of old friendships that are now contingent on me having facebook.  Sorry, not going to happen.

I'm truly sick (and tired)of poopie diapers and a 3 1/2 yr old who has decided he never wants to go to the bathroom by himself.  This kid has until August because Pre-K won't take him if he's not potty trained.

Wheat contains the protein gliadin to which celiacs are sensitive.  There are a subset of celiacs that are also sensitive to the oat protein avenin.  Whether a celiac can eat oats depends on their categories of sensitivity.  However, the problem with oats is that there is cross-contamination between oats and other grains, so someone sensitive to just gliadin may be sensitive to oats, even if not due to the oats themselves.

If I'm honest, the fact that this thread's title ends with "of" is making me a little bit sick. :/

I thought you meant KY lubricant.  And I was imagining that like your hubby would only use that brand of lube and you didn't like it and you're sick of it.  Then ten seconds later I realized what you were talking about.

Ha!  Love it.

i'm sick of being sick (vomitting) with this little guy in my belly.  i had all-day-long morning sickness for the first 22 weeks and then continued to get sick out-of-the-blue once every two or three weeks.  now it happened yesterday AND today!  i really hope it's not coming back.  :(  i've heard that this DOES happen to some women towards the end of their pregnancies, and i'm seriously not keen on that!

I'm sick of not being able to find a part time job, even though I have a great work history and am good with people.
I'm sick of people commenting on the fact that I don't eat meat - yes, I think it tastes good too, but to me there are other things more important than that.
I'm sick of the school cafeteria having margarine that still has milk in it.
I'm sick of people avoiding certain foods for no good reason (aka, people who don't have celiacs not eating wheat because some other people can't or some crap like that).
I'm sick of bloggers who started out blogging like every other day but now only do it once a month, if that.
I'm sick of my dinners turning out badly.
I'm sick of only being able to see my bf on the weekends.
I'm sick of flaky people.
And I'm sick of being cranky and depressed, because I'm sure that's why so many things are annoying me.

I hear ya! I've lived here my whole life- please feel sorry for me haha Once school is over I'm outta here!

I'm sick of people's stupid questions about veg*nism and their reaction when I tell them I'm vegetarian. One that I really hate is "You're not vegan are you??" So what if I was? UGH

And people that constantly complain, I mean I know everyone does it and needs to let off steam which is cool, but I have one friend that everything that comes out of her mouth is a complaint or general negativity. And yes I'm complaining about her complaining lol

I'm sick of tiger woods. Big deal, another unfaithful scumbag that cheats on his girlfriend/wife. People are so simple minded that they would rather watch that shit for an hour than spend one minute thinking about whats going on in places like Copenhagen or Afghanistan.

Also tired of living in the middle of fucking NOWHERE. Have to drive an hour for anything. I really want to do things but where im living really limits me.

Sick of school too. It fucking sucks sitting in class learning about all the shit that is going on in the world and then having the instructor say "ok everyone go home and write a paper on it." Then having a half the class not do it because they are lazy and the other half do it for the grade but not give a shit otherwise. How is learning about starvation and war in a book helping end it? I wish we had classes that actually went out in the world and did stuff instead of just sitting around discussing how shitty things are.

I wish I could just drop out and devote my life to the Peace Corps. or Food not Bombs or something. But that is not realistic either
