Virtual birthday party for yabbitgirl (2007 Happy Birthday)

Tomorrow is our friend's birthday!  Let's throw her a party!  I really wasn't able to participate in the other party held recently.  Since there's going to be so many people there, I'll "make" http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=6433.0 the Easy Vegan Chocolate Cake and http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=16669 the Stuffed Shell Finger Food.  I told her that if I was in Spain, we'd go out dancing and have a sip of wine or two, so the music has to be something we can dance to.  Someone else can bring another cake and we need much more food!

I am definitely bringing the Pineapple Upside Down Cake posted by baypuppy http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=12596.0

and a batch of hush puppies!

Hmmm, I'll bring some VCTOTW cupcakes, this cauliflower dish which LadyDragonfly didn't like but I thought was divine (http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=11226), and some veggies to slap on the grill.

And dance music--great! Bookpapa and I are just finishing up 4 weeks worth of dance classes (fox trot, cha cha, waltz, and tango) at a local college. We can show everyone our moves. Bookpapa is a dancing fool.  :D

I'm going to make vegan varieties of the food eaten by characters in one of her favorite novels.

Especially for yabbitgirl, Bob Marley's "Don't Worry 'bout a Thing" will be playing when she arrives.

Bookmama and Bookpapa can pick the next tune and dazzle us with their moves.

Since I am so thin yet shapely in the virtual world, I'm wearing a azure blue colored low cut silky mini dress.  Forget the "What not to wear" rule about no miniskirts after 35.  I look good.  I can't wait to see what Birthday girl will wear.

Time does not exist in this virtual world.  This party can go on and on.  I'm sure she won't mind an additional birthday party simultaneous with hers.  If she wants to we can morph the celebration into a 4th of the July party and do something for Bastille Day too.  We're going to need much more cake!!

Oh yeah, I got so excited about the food and dancing that I forgot to wish yabbit a slightly early (where I live, anyway) happy birthday.

Happy Birthday  :D, Happy Birthday :D, Happy Birthday :D, Happy Birthday :D, Happy Birthday  :D, Happy Birthday :D

Well, well, how did y'all get in here without waking me up? I had to dash back into the bedroom and at least comb my hair and put on my purple shirt and my black skirt. My virtual hairdo looks righteous! And of course in the virtual world I have a diamond necklace.

Books?? Oh joy!

And of course, we can celebrate as many different things and for as long as y'all want. I've got a big old pan of tofu and veggies with couscous on the go, and in the virtual world (only, alas) my skills at making Dragonfly's Ribs rock!!  ;D

Secondbase, did you bring some instruments to make some music? I am in good voice today so let's jam!!

Bookmama, tell the Papa to save me a twirl or two. I promise to give him back, safe and sound.

I might be late, but Happy Birthday! I'll make dessert from my own special apple pie recipe. Hope you like it.

Would youl like to move the party outside to the lawn of this virtual mansion instead of having it here in the ballroom?  We can still go over to the adjourning tennis court (taking the net down, of course) and dance when we want to.  It would make it easier to play frisbee with the dogs.  I'll need to change clothes into something casual like jeans and my "Meat is Murder' Tshirt.  What do you think?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YABBIT

Can I offer you a glass of wine? It is a lovely bordeaux, a 1787 Chateau LaFite & once owned by Thomas Jefferson. It is reported to be the most expensive bottle of wine in the world....I paid a lot for this bottle & at virtual birthday parties, I am rich beyond belief  8) And don't worry that it's over 200 years old, it is still drinkable.

Ooh, birthday girls go first and then I want to be next in line for that wine.  yabbitgirl is our "Thomas Jefferson" on the Transitioning to Vegetarian group and it's very fitting that you bought a bottle of wine that was once owned by Mr. Jefferson himself!  So cool.

Well dahlings, if you open the French windows onto the lawn, we can float in and out as the spirit moves us. Don't you know our dogs never have muddy paws in virtual reality! AND you never spill or drip on yourself, so you can charge around with the dawgs and then come back in and not even work up a sweat--I mean, get up a glow!

Oh yes, please, Bookmama, do pour me a glass of LaFite...mmmmm-mmmm. A cheeky little wine, they call it "the rascal of the vineyards"! (But we veg*ns know the benchmark for wine is--does it go with hummus?)  ;D ;D ;D

I just opened my presents from home--a package of fabric scraps suitable for quilting, a new hand-blender with whisk attachment (oh my waistline, but coconut cream pie is SO going to happen) and a copy of D'Aulaire's Book of Norse Gods (aka Norse Gods and Giants). Those are the real pressies, not virtual.

AND I just got my eyes tested and am one-quarter Diopter less near sighted than before!!
45 may turn out to be a very good year. (Or do I mean, 1962?)
