There might already be a post on this but oh well.
What are your top 3 favorite bands and/or songs?
I have so many and I love all types of music, but I'm going to have to say that my top three favorite bands are Le Tigre, The Dresden Dolls, and Metric.
As far as songs go, I love pretty much anything from them, but I like Slideshow At Free University by Le Tigre, Sex Changes by The Dresden Dolls, and Empty by Metric.
For other random favorite songs with different bands I'm going to have to say Waterfalls by TLC, Psycho by Puddle Of Mudd, and Second Chance by Shinedown.
;)
Bands:
1. CLUTCH (okay, this one may never change...)
waaa? really? woohooo now I really am in love with vegweb, there are Dream Theater AND Clutch fans here, that is crazyawesome. Like a pillow vs pillow fight.
go bands named after sandworms in Dune.
I'm more a folk/classical/old jazz kind of person, but I *love* Apocolyptica. My kids got me hooked on them.
they are so awesome. we saw them live twice. never saw people headbang while playing cellos before. one of the best live shows i have ever seen. so much energy and their drummer is actually animal from the muppets. awesome
there are some really good folk metal bands out there. Ensiferum's probably the best. and Suidakra

Listening to 'Strange COusins From The West' as we speak...
Anthrax, ham radio... and liquor!

Does Eluvietie fall into that genre? Because I like them... and Garmarna (though they are more folk with some modern flourishes...).
MAybe I'll check those bands out. Thanks!
one new band that i'm loving at the moment is Swallow the Sun. They're a doom metal outfit from finland. they write very slow, long, gloomy songs. they're latest album has a 33 minute long track that was originally written for a Finnish metal ballet!! absolutely beautiful. the ballet project fell through and they just stuck it on a cd with a couple extra tracks. called Plague of Butterflys. epic stuff
I love music too much to classify some bands/artists as favorites over others. Here are the last three I listened to:
The Red Elvises
George Benson
Otis Redding

All right... now this sounds up my alley.
