Have you ever gotten that kind of response from people when you talk about being vegan?
The guys get a kick out of it and think that I'm wierd! :-D
I don't shove my values down their throat or anything, but I do talk about cooking. Most people I talk to can't fathom the idea of no meat or diary! :o
I think people are conditioned to eat meat and dairy unless they were raised as vegans, I myself am a bit new to it! lol
I like being weird.
everyone will get used to it eventually, and won't even bring it up anymore!
I am normal. Everybody else is fucking weird. I have to be drunk all the time to deal with society.
I'm used to most of my friends being vegan, but now that I live in a new place and I'm taking a language course with people from all over they world they're baffled by my veganism. Today a woman from Vietnam brought in spring rolls to share and I asked (in german) if they had meat in them and she replied yes, but only a little. The Polish guy sitting next to me said but meat is so good! what do you eat?! It's actually a new experience for me having people be so shocked and asking all those questions. I did bring in brownies to share and people seemed to like them, and I plan on bringing in more goodies to show that vegan eat lots of awesome foods! Maybe you can do the same to show them how great it is.
And by the way, happy birthday!

Thanks for the birthday wish. :)
I try to bring things into work for others, a couple of the guys try it, but they're bent on "meat and potatos!lol
Sorry I took so long to reply here. :-[
I got my hours raised at work and work saturdays. Since I separated from my wife 6 months ago I have to do all the cooking on my own along with research on food and what not.
I stick with organics and make all my meals from scratch as to avoid processed foods, that takes a lot of time! :D
Heck, I even grind my own grains to make my bread! lol But it's worth it.
Thanks for the replys. :)
Veganism is not weird. Eating something dead is weird.

We're out of the mainstream for sure. But let me tell you that you ROCK!
We don't eat other species and we're the weird ones :-D It's funny though, because it took me a minute to realize that you wrote dude with "dood". Dood in Dutch is dead.

I was vegetarian for a long long time then made the decision to become fully vegan, which can be tough when eating out but I am so much healthier for it now ;)b
