Reasons to smile
I guess not everyone needs to find a reason, but... What made you smile and/or laugh today?
My first LOL of the day was caused by this LOLdog.
I went to the uniform laundry room at work yesterday, to ask if I could try on a size smaller in my trousers. And they fit! The laundry lady asked me if I needed a new shirt, too, so I tried the next size down in that, too. And it fit! Wow. My pants had been slipping down my hips a little for weeks, but last week they got ridiculously slippy. So happy to have confirmation that my body's changing shape/size a little. :iloveyou:
Humming along to the occasional good song at work... it's amazing how much it can lift my mood. ;)b
Overhearing customers' reactions when they can't decide whether flowers are real or not. It's hilarious either way - when they think fake are real, or real are fake. ;D
one of my roommates told me sh would've never guessed that i used to have acne and 2 of them said i have pretty skin. no one in my whole entire life has complimented me on my skin. and compared to how horrifying my skin was before, to have someone say they wouldn't have known that i even had acne is a miracle. :D
Aw that's awesome VH! I know how good that can feel. My acne has disappeared for now, but I still have red patches on my cheeks where the cystic acne used to be. Ugh. :-\
I'm smiling, because my Dr's appointment went well. The baby is looking great and I couldn't be happier. Also, I love how I mostly crave healthy vegan food (even though I'm eating lacto-veg) and I've never had one craving for gross meat. Not that I have had a craving for anything at all yet, unless you count how my food aversions in the beginning only allowed me to eat potatoes in all forms with ketchup. Yuck. Haha. :)
hey... potatoes are good!
Haha. I love potatoes, but potatoes everyday for every meal gets old. But mainly I just hate ketchup.

You reminded me of a friend's signature line: "French fries without salt? That's just potatoes!"

I can log into VegWeb! :) Because of website issues, I've not been able to log in for the past week.
I don't even know what to say. Umm..
I'M IN PORTLAND!! :D
Thanks, VH! ;)b
Today will be a good day. The man is making me a special yummy Russian vegetarian dinner. I'm looking forward to it. :)>>>
Two of my students passed their exams.
And another new student has promised to try to download the Project Gutenberg dual-layer DVD that they aren't sending me.
Thirty thousand books. My goodness.

We are not done with physiotherapy, he just changed my appointment to 9 AM because he has 2 elementary teachers who have to go to work by 9.15 (yeah, different culture totally. School starts at 9.15 and ends at 2 PM). I am glad because I knew we weren't done here. It's a lot better but still painful particularly at night.
@monty I'm happy you can log in! I have been able to log in no problem HOWEVER I have an issue with my messages no posting and when they do post, the page goes blank, and I get a duplicate warning. It's frustrating to say the least.
Fay, that happens to me every time. I have to hangdog back to the forum page and then refresh to see if it posted. Irritating isnt' the word!!
RTS: One of my students who finished her degree (the one with 3 kids under age 9) has decided to go for her masters and wants to come for classes. Three hrs a week. I love her to pieces anyway. DH said "Give her a discount." I just might.
It's Friday!!! And I got a new puppy :) mostly so Josh will have something to cuddle with when he comes over hehehe. I will try to post pics sometime this weekend.
Yay for puppies! Congrats Jess!
yayyyy!! puppies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WAITIN FOR THOSE PUPPY PIX
I'm happy because, on Thursday, I finally get to go home on a more permanent basis. Been travelling around for the past 6 weeks and it's getting old. I'll get to be home all the way until September! :)
Playing hooky from work and going to Meze 119 (Middle Eastern vegetarian restaurant) for lunch. :)
...and, the boss sold all the mojo bags I made for the shop and handed me a wad of cash last night! :)
Not sure it is a RTS yet but it will be after another week of pain in the butt. We are moving my MIL into a new Assisted Living facility on Friday. She will be about a mile from our house! I can walk there quicker than I can drive to where she is currently living. She will be kitty corner from the high school DS is a senior at so he can visit for a few minutes on his way home from school. For all practical purposes, this is a miracle. The new facility was private pay only when MIL moved into her current Asst. Living. Usually if you move in, you need to be private pay for some time before your money runs out and then they allow you to stay and accept Medicade. When we heard a rummor that they accepted Medicade now and checked it out, they had only 1 room available which they needed filled with a Medicade client to keep the numbers so they could keep their contract.
The worst part is that when SIL, (her DD/best friend/roomie for 20+ yrs) passed on, she moved a good part of SIL's stuff to her side of a 2 bedroom appartment. Since she is on Medicaide, she only qualifies for a studio appartment that is about the size of her current bedroom (no living room). On a good side, that means we have been sorting and "sharing" things for the last week to make it fit. There will be less to deal with when she passes.
i'm applying for study abroad programs in new zealand and australia!!
