Ok, ok...

I'm addicted to sugar....What is the  best way to wean myself off of sweets...I also eat when I'm bored....I have 7 pounds that I want to work off! I used to do well eating raw, but now that I'm in culinary school, things have changed.

Lara bars are yummy sweet and raw. but can be expensive.. stock up when they're on sale!
Sorbets and smoothies. Fruits.
Dried fruit mabye? Or trail mix?

I'm not sure, just throwing random ideas out hah

What are you eating/drinking with a lot of sugar?  Try switching to lower sugar varieties.  I reduce the sugar in a lot of baked goods.  They still satisfy my sweet cravings, but they're slightly healthier (and now full-sugar things taste weird to me).  If you drink a lot of soft drinks, switch to the diet versions; switch to unsweetened juice, semi-sweet dark chocolate, etc.

If all else fails, don't keep any sweets in your house, and stock up on fruit.  That way if you get a craving for something sweet you're forced to eat something healthy.

I got rid of my sugar cravings by cutting out all sugar for 2 weeks.
And then suddenly I started loving vegetables... so up the veggies?

when at first you don't succeed, try try again.

Try this... http://bunnyfoot.blogspot.com/2006/02/homemade-lara-type-bars.html  I have made lots of different yummy combinations....i think my favorite might be shredded coconut, cranberries and almonds.  Much cheaper than buying them at the store.

If you are really addicted to sugar and want to make a life change, I suggest that you read this book: The Sugar Addict's Total Recovery Program by Kathleen Desmaisons

If you just overindulge a little here and there and are looking for lower calorie subs or healthier alternatives, the suggestions past posters made were wonderful.
