Food bill per week

Just wondering what everyone spends per week on food per person. Have you gotten more frugal in the economic downturn? What are your best tips in getting the most for your money?
Cheers,
Janel
I always think hubby and I spend too much with $70 a week...including cat food, litter, and toiletries. DANNNNNNNNGGGG. I can't imagine $200!
yeah, ours is usually ~$70-80 but we have a self-imposed limit of $100 .
And if we needed/wanted to we could definitely cut it down because we are never 'out' of things at the end of the week and I'm still building up our cupboard supplies.

I'm bad about always buying more things when I'm not "out" of everything. I need to go to the store fairly often for produce and while I'm there I think I need to pick up this and that and ooooh this is on sale, etc. I have to make myself stay out, or I just keep stocking up. For what? I don't know.
We spend about $100/week average. During farmer's market season its less because a lot of that is expensive co-op organic produce. Yay farmer's market! I planted a lot of veggies this year so that should be helpful too if they make it!
Well.. right now ours is more like... $70 one week and then like $30 the next... so $70 a week would be AMAZING. I'm going to try to start budgeting it in.
I do get the feeling some things are cheaper for you guys than we can get here.
And I don't mind stocking up on things, we don't plan on moving for at least five years so there's nothing wrong with having full cupboards! We don't buy any processed foods so I'm still pretty happy with our spend knowing it's all beans/grains/flours/produce/goooodness : )
We are a family of 4, plus lots of animal friends. I spend between $100-140/per week. I try to buy a lot in bulk and really watch the sales. We have just started our first attempt at a veggie garden. I am hoping to have organic tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, etc. That will help a lot!
The question though, with the ranges, is per meal/per person......which do you wnat to know....per meal/per person or per week???
We are a family of 3. Our grocery bill for every two weeks $150 which is about $70 dollars a week. I cook at home everyday and make everything from scratch which saves us lots of money. We freeze or eat the next day for lunch any food leftover. Shopping for fresh fruits and veggies, buying in bulk from health foodstores, and not buying processed foods makes a difference when it comes to our food bill.
Just read that food is up 4% and energy is up 2.2% due to 'inflation'.
I feel bad for the people that are buckled down currently with finances.
