Bunnies anyone?

Does anyone else have a pet house rabbit?  :)

I have guinea pigs.
My girlfriend used to have some pet bunnies, though.

We used to when I was a kid.  You can litter train them so they can roam freely in the house.  Bunnies are really fun.  I thought about adopting another one, but I don't think bunnies and cats would get along so great  ::)

Yep, my bun is litter trained. I've had him for 3 years now. They do get along with cats as long as both animals are "fixed"

Guinea pigs are so cute.. I've thought of adopting one but don't know what my bun would think. He likes other animals a little too much.. hehe.  >:D

I wish I could litter train the pigs, but they would chew up everything anyway.

I had a pet bunny as a kid too. We had him in a cage in the house when he was unsupervised but could runaround a three room section of the house when we let him out (which was often) He was really big & used to chase our cats around. He would use the litter box to pee, but would leave little "raisinets" around the house, it wasn't a big deal, they are easy to pick up. I don't know how to train them though because we got him from a shelter when he was an adult. We also let him out in the yard sometimes if someone was going to sit out with him. He was alot of fun.

We had a bunny, Patrick.  He died earlier this summer but he got along great with the cats.  The youngest of the five cats was his playmate until he tried to rape her.  Then she got leery of being too close to him.  A cat afraid of a rabbit is not your usual situation.  None of our cats ever seemed like they associated the bunny as a food!

my boy was VERY EASY to train! he was already about 6 months when i brought him home but learned quick. i think he seriously peed in the floor one time. i just put him in his box and when he would poop elsewhere, i would pick up the poop and put it in his box so he would know the smell was there and thats where he should go.
the only other time he has peed was on the bed one time when he got excited jumping around, LOL.

rabbits make awesome pets. they are very clean. don't smell bad. don't require baths. even his litter box doesn't stink!
mine has free range of the house except for the bedrooms because there are too many cords in there, haha.
i wish everyone could have a bun and see how great they are. people think they are just a caged pet like a hamster or something but they are so much more. just like a cat or a dog!
and they eat vegan!  ;D

sorry to hear about your bun. :( it is cute to see them play with cats. my best friend has three cats and kept my bun for me one weekend.. he did try to "have his way" with one of them, hahaha! she didn't even care!

We have wild buns all over campus. The adults look like the size/proportions of babies, and when spring comes the babies are uber small! It's like 3 inches from the grow to the twitchy nose.

I had a rabbit growing up too, and I always wanted to get one now but I have 2 cats and always thought that would be a problem.  I just thought the cat's instincts would kick in and it would attack the rabbit!  Has this ever happened to anyone who has had both?

awf- you said you were able to train the rabbit to crap in his box too?  Soley??  Mine used a litter box too- peed only in there and crapped a little, but definitely deposited presents around the house too (which is no big deal- they are odorless and easy to pick up like lisaanddini said).

Chewing the electric cords and digging/scratching/chewing up furniture are the big minuses.  And the insano shedding!

I have a lovely 3.5 year old girl named Scampi. She likes her slinky, nose rubs, raisins and hates being brushed or held. :) and I love her.

she is shy, if out of her bunny condo she hides. the worst is when she hides behind my painting and i can get her in for the night, she will eventually come out for food...
