Veggie propaganda
So my dad quite likes to cook - he's a bit of a closet foodie and over the past couple of years has been starting to introduce new meals into the staples that he and my mum have had forever. They're both omni but he's always been keen to try the veggie meals I make and especially likes how I cook a lot from scratch. To aid him in his quest to have the world's biggest pile of cookbooks, I bought him this for Christmas:
To my joy he's been carrying it around the house like a kid and keeps enthusing to me about all the things he'll try. He made veggie sushi yesterday and it came out great. I don't know, VegWebbers, given that my family are epic meat-eaters I don't see them going veggie any time soon, but this seems like a step in the right direction. We have a menagerie of frozen animals in the freezer and yet he's cooked vegetarian three nights in a row instead. This seems like progress, right?
that is huge progress!! good for you & your family - i wish mine would be as open as yours! you should look through the book too and keep on suggesting recipes that you can cook and enjoy together, that way you can keep him distracted from those dead animals in the freezer.
This is great....after he tires of this book ....just think of all the other vegan cookbooks you could get him!!!!!

I think my brother will go on loudly petitioning for steak, and my mum definitely prefers her 'meat and two veg' staples, but I will encourage this behaviour for sure :) He's currently in the kitchen making flatbread to go with tonight's Spanish tomato soup. It's messy ;D
Awesome! Looks like a good book!
I wish my friends were as open as your Dad... ???

props on the homemade sushi. Mine always turns out like salad,o well that's why I live in vancouver (ooh inside joke for canucks!).
First of all that cookbook looks amazing. Second, I've been trying to convince my parents that meat is not essential for every meal. You've had more luck than I have. Excellent work.
