Ridiculous things you've heard regarding Obama's presidency.

I heard a girl on the radio this morning say that "it's the same devestation that I felt on 9/11".
Seriously? Obama being president is just like thousands of people dying? ??? >:(
I also think it's funny that people are saying they are going to move to Canada. You know, since the US is going to become more like Canada.
I can't make this stuff up. ::)
On Fox news today they had a segment: "How is President Elect Obama doing so far?"
well, yeah, he should change the country in 2 days especially before he is sworn in
That he's going to put gas in our cars and pay our mortgages.
Also that he will rule from the center.
I've heard both of these and they are ridiculous.

HA! Here's an excerpt from g-chat with my best friend (a huge Obama supporter, BTW):
BFF: i mean, im totally happy about obama but im also kind of over it
me: whaaaa?
i'm not, at all
dude
the look on his face during his pauses in the speech
gah, it gave me chils
R and I were totally crying
BFF: i definitely got chills
hahahaha
it just seems like old old news now
me: you're insane
BFF: if this didnt end out the way it did there woudl be panic and rioting, so im glad about that
me: i don't think there'd be panic
BFF: i mean, i would be panicking and rioting with every one
me: i think there'd be anger
and depression
guh
BFF: well right
me: it just COULDN'T go that way
BFF: we just are so not outta the weeds
me: of course not!
BFF: theres still not that much to celebrate
i mean yes, its historic
yes, its fantastic
but cmon
nothing's changed
me: dude
he just won 13 hours ago!!
give it time :D

i heard that too. funny.
He's going to die for our sins & then rise from the dead 2 days later.
oh wait, wrong story, sorry.

That he shouldn't be president because he's Muslim and hates The American flag like the Jehovah's Witnesses do, but it doesn't matter cuz he'll just get shot soon anyways."
No joke. Someone said that.
Katie's mom said that she didn't vote for him because he doesn't believe in god and won't wear a flag pin on his lapel.

Ha!! If they want to move to Canada, by all means, go right ahead! Funny, because I was seriously considering a move too if the election went the other way. I don't think I could stand 4 years of Palin. Now that I think about it, if M/P would have won, it would have been a feeling similar to that on 9/11....
???
Some very nasty things followed by something like "I hope he gets shot" followed by "Let's see if he even makes it to the inauguration".
Granted I myself am not an Obama fan this was just pretty heartless, cruel and completely ill justified.
I have to add that I take issue with all the unnecessary cheering and "we won" sentiments as if the presidential election is a sport. It certainly makes me feel uneasy.
there is nothing wrong with being happy and saying we won. McCain supporters would be saying the same thing.
That he would repeal the Hyde Amendment, sign the Freedom of Choice Act, and not raise taxes. :-D

I have nothing wrong with people being happy but the "we won" mentality is a little daunting to me. I don't see the presidential election as a sport or a contest and I'm weary of people who vote simply to be on "the winning team" or because their friends and family told them to pick that person. I would just like people to take it more seriously and it seems like the media doesn't help much either. But it's over and Obama is our president and I'd like to see what happens from here as I'm sure most of us are after Bush completes his term.
McCain supporters have been saying a lot of things I'm not happy about either.
LOL @ rabble rousing.

That people with a name like Barack Obama shouldn't be president. That he'll turn the U.S. into a socialist state ( by people who would'nt know the definition of the word if someone asked what they meant).

I was just gonna mention that.
