Hot sauce!!!  :devilwink: In alphabetical order. Add reviews here. Word of warning: I didn't think to check for honey in all the ingredients until partway through the list, so let me know if any flavors need to be removed.

Chipotle habanero

This used to be one of my favorites...but I can't find it anymore. Love the red jalapeno flavor! Very flavorful...tangy without tasting vinegary. Goes great with refried bean burritos. (kristinv)

I've had several bottles of it over the years. My best friend is from Canada and goes to this big music festival called Shambhala. The first time he tasted it, he KNEW he had to get it for me because I love all things spicy. I have never seen it for sale in stores (sb)

This is a very spicy habanero hot sauce with a bit of smoky chipotle flavor coming through. A little goes a long way. My favorite way to use it is to add just a couple drops to guacamole. (kristinv)
Beyond death

Chipotle slam
A good, basic chipotle hot sauce. Kinda spicy (nowhere near as spicy as their Death sauces). I didn't use it much, because there are other chipotle sauces I like better. (kristinv)

Wasabi green tea
A very unique hot sauce. Great if you like wasabi...couldn't really taste the green tea, though. I didn't use it much, because I had no idea what to put it on. Now that I'm thinking about it, it would probably go great on some veggie sushi. (kristinv)

LOVE this stuff. Not too hot that you can't taste the flavor. I could drink this stuff. (veganrun)
Good general hot sauce for Mexican food, but I prefer Tapatio as far as Mexican-style hot sauces go. (kristinv)

nar nar binks status... freakin spicy! i love spicy but some stuff i eat and think "holy damn all i can taste is spicy" i sorta like to semi taste the food even though my coworkers are astonished at how much garlic chili paste i can put away in one sitting (amymylove)
Dude, it has a great flavor! I love spicy food probably more than I should, so it isn't too spicy for me (has a nice kick, though!). I think the fruity flavor of the habanero pepper is amazing. (sb)

Always a classic, and here in the midwest, is the traditional sauce for hot wings, so we use it on everything! (GFvegmom)
I like this, but not for many things. I probably use it solely for a wing type thing, or a dash here or there. The flavor is too strong for me..not too spicy, but just strong. (AC)

Favorite. I use it (or something composed of vinegar and cayenne) on any type of potato (baked, fried, roasted). (sb)

k, so, i saw this was made from a different pepper, and i was like, MUST TRY. So, it seems this pepper must be really spicy because (other than the label statement that it's the hottest pepper in Africa) there's a lot of other stuff in this sauce before the pepper listing, and it's still spicy. However, it's pretty mild. Not quite as mild as the Original Juan jalapeno sauce, but fairly close. It has a really great, addictive flavor - the sauce is primarily roasted tomato - and is a bit vinegary. Love it on everything. (fb)

So good. Even though it's got other stuff in the ingredients (like tomato and pineapple juice concentrate), it's VERY spicy. I think the other fruity ingredients goes with the habaneros well. Goes well on most things, kinda like Sriracha, but spicier. It's thick, like tomato sauce. (fb)
An interesting and flavorful sauce. Spicy and a little sweet. Great for anything where you want to add Jamaican jerk flavor such as homemade patties. I've even used it to make a spicy "jerk" chex mix and jerk tofu jerky...so good!! (kristinv)
Bite me roasted garlic chipotle
Just about as hot as the 'batch 114'. The roasted garlic flavor definitely comes through, and it's just a wee bit smoky from the chipotle. Not sure if we prefer this or 114; they're kind of similar. (fb)

Markedly milder than the other sauces we've tried so far; this one is rated 'medium' on the website whereas the others are 'hot.' this is about the spice level of the tabasco jalapeno sauce, and is similar. It's less plain, having a distinct lime flavor (vs just vinegar), and some cumin n stuff. I like it better than the jalapeno tabasco sauce, but it's too limey and not hot enough for me in general. When I use this, I end up using A LOT of it for that reason. (fb)

Sriracha (Huy Fong)
Chili garlic
current fave for asian stuffs. better than sriracha! i discovered this because the chili paste at the thai restaurant i love is a different tasting chili paste... cause it's the garlic chili paste! get it... i think it is better than chili paste and different than sriracha (amymylove)
I use this to make our Sweet Chili Sauce - very spicy!  Makes delicious sauce! (erinmonster)
really good, I mix it in stirfrys (lubi)
tastes more like pure chili to me, vs sriracha which is more of a sauce. and sweet. (fb)
SO GOOD. I put this in everything, and when I can't come up with something, I'll just dip chips in it. LOVE IT. (veganrun)
I actually don't think I prefer this over sriracha. I do enjoy it, but not more so. It has the spice, with more garlic, but I like the sriracha consistency better. Still good. (AC)
Sambal oelek
forget the vinegar! (fb)
I like this, but don't use it very often. It is pretty spicy in bigger quantities! I've most often used this for Pad Thai. I need to use it more. (AC)
good on all things Asian. (tweety)
This is my go-to sambal. Tangy and spicy...goes great with basically any Asian-style food. (kristinv)
Sriracha
LF eats sriracha like it is going out of style. i don't like hot stuff! (bp)
for soups and asian/indian (good thickener....learned that at culinary school)
My favorite. I use this all the time, and love it for most things. I don't use it on Mexican, but will use it on top of many other dishes. Love it on potatoes. (AC)
On everything Asian (this isn't that spicy to me, but I'm a chiliholic) (quintess)
has a bit of sugar in it, so it has a hint of sweetness that for those with fragile palates can't taste over the initial heat. If you're looking to 'dip your toes into the waters' of this wonderful and versatile sauce, I recommend starting out 'small' add a few drops/ to 1/4 tsp of it per jar of spaghetti sauce; you can also add it to cheeze sauces like alfredo or mac'n cheeze; again, no more than a few drops. For legume soups (black bean, lentil, chilli, etc) it doubles as a flavor enhancer/heat provider and a thickening agent. I've also used it in dips and spreads like humus. As you can see, for me it is pretty versatile and not used solely in Asian cuisine. It is all about taking small steps and seeing what you like it with and what you can do without. (hanashi)
I love this on sandwiches. (permanentgrin)
amazing on sandwiches, pizza, noodles, rice (super yum!), in soup, i mean the possibilities are endless with that stuff though i wouldn't put it on mexican food that might be bizarre (amymylove)
I built up my tolerance to spiciness using Sriracha. At first it just tastes like chili sauce, but once you adapt, you can taste the sugar and garlic in it pretty easily. I love it. All other hot sauces to me are just vinegar + spicy. This one is more complex. (fb)
favorite (prettyinpunk)
2nd favorite (queenbee)
I eat sriracha all the time.  It is my "fall-back sauce".  Basically, if I have screwed up a recipe, I add sriracha and it fixes it all into a smoldering yummy chili garlic wonder.  I did this to soup today. I forgot to add the spices to the oil, so it was very bland...now i have an amazing spicy lentil veggie stew. (fufu)
Huge fan (tweedle)
I like it for a more sweet-intense-heat. (misa)
have it in my fridge (livingdeadgirl)
mahoosive fan... though most people I know call it 'chicken hot sauce' because the brand most common around here has a rooster on it (narcissus)
Favorite. works well in all Asian flavors, on veggies and on PIZZA!!!  (sb)
good on all things Asian. (tweety)
I'm on the Sriracha side too. (cstadt)
I just tried it for the first time last week and it was really good.  It has a nice level of heat. (monkey7)
I actually didn't eat sriracha on top of something for a long time. I put it in things a lot, and cooked with it, but never realized how flavorful and delicious it is to eat "raw." In case someone else is in that boat, try it with some bread and avocado! (AC)
i eat sriracha on salad. (fb)
my husband puts a bucketload of sriracha on his sandwiches for work every day.  Good thing we buy it in a giant 750ml bottle (oww)
I too am a super massive fan. I don't think I ever saw it in the UK, but have found it super cheap here in NZ.....although not quite as super cheap or as big bottles as oww has.  Quite jealous of that. (shelloid)
like it in my asian recipes, on fried tofu with furikaki (mama2veggie)
one of only hot sauces I can get here. (yabbit)
our all-time favorite - use it almost every day, on everything!  Couldn't live without it. (erinmonster)
I love love love Sriracha so much more than other hot sauces. (dannibazaar)
I hate it! It is way too sweet! (mdv)
We eat a lot of it in our house, requiring us to buy the huge squeeze bottle that stays on the table at mealtimes. (sweetgeorgiapeach)
I once saw an Oatmeal comic about Sriracha that was a diagram, basically saying the two things they wouldn't put Sriracha on were: their eyeballs and genitals, and everything else is fair game. Essentially how I feel about it.  (veganrun)
Good but not one of my favorites, since it only seems to work well with Asian-style foods. I don't really like it on non-Asian things, because the sugar in it makes it taste weird. (kristinv)

I don't like this. I think it's hot and has zero flavor. (veganrun)

This is the sauce we usually get with our bean things. It's not spicy, but has the best flavor, comparatively. (AC)
This used to be my go-to, until the Fire Roasted came along. I think it has great flavor and isn't overly hot. Fantastic. (veganrun)
The best (spiciest) Taco bell sauce. I add this liberally to bean burritos. It's a MUST. (kristinv)

I don't really like smoky things, so not a fan of this one. (AC)
This sauce is the shit. When it came out, I had a friend text me and tell me I had to try it because he knew I'd love it. And I do. I could drink this stuff, along with the Verde. (veganrun)
Smoky with "medium" heat. I use it in combination with Fire sauce, so that my food is spicy enough. (kristinv)
Hot
Not hot, and probably my least favorite TB sauce. (AC)
Doesn't add much heat. Don't bother when you can use Fire. (kristinv)
Mild
I like this flavor better than the hot, but it's definitely not spicy at all. (AC)
Not spicy at all. I never use it. (kristinv)
Verde
This is ok. Wouldn't choose it. (AC)
DELICIOUS. I grab handfuls of these, and I've used a bunch of packets at home on beans when I'm too lazy to think of spices. I just pour this all over my burritos. Love it. (veganrun)

So good. Even though it's got other stuff in the ingredients (like tomato and pineapple juice concentrate), it's VERY spicy. I think the other fruity ingredients goes with the habaneros well. Goes well on most things, kinda like Sriracha, but spicier. It's thick, like tomato sauce.

FYI: the Louisiana-style isn't vegan - it has honey

LOVE this stuff. Not too hot that you can't taste the flavor. I could drink this stuff.

Sriracha (Huy Fong)
Chili garlic
SO GOOD. I put this in everything, and when I can't come up with something, I'll just dip chips in it. LOVE IT.

Sriracha
I once saw an Oatmeal comic about Sriracha that was a diagram, basically saying the two things they wouldn't put Sriracha on were: their eyeballs and genitals, and everything else is fair game. Essentially how I feel about it.

Tabasco
Original
I don't like this. I think it's hot and has zero flavor.

Taco Bell
Fire
This used to be my go-to, until the Fire Roasted came along. I think it has great flavor and isn't overly hot. Fantastic.

Fire roasted
This sauce is the shit. When it came out, I had a friend text me and tell me I had to try it because he knew I'd love it. And I do. I could drink this stuff, along with the Verde.

Verde
DELICIOUS. I grab handfuls of these, and I've used a bunch of packets at home on beans when I'm too lazy to think of spices. I just pour this all over my burritos. Love it.

Tapatio
Original
Fantastic. I drown my Mexican food in this. Great flavor.

Kalahari Pepper Company
African Rhino Peri-Peri Sauce
k, so, i saw this was made from a different pepper, and i was like, MUST TRY.

I noticed that some of these hot sauces use "sugar" in them. For example, the popular "Sriracha". Has anyone confirmed that these companies are using non bone-charred sugar as an ingredient? I wouldn't give them the vegan green light until there has been some written confirmation on their part.

I'm such a hot sauce freak! I need to start reviewing all the ones I've tried...this could take a while...(AC, I hope you don't hate me, haha.)

Arizona Gunslinger - Red Jalapeno
This used to be one of my favorites...but I can't find it anymore. Love the red jalapeno flavor! Very flavorful...tangy without tasting vinegary. Goes great with refried bean burritos. (kristinv)

Blair's After Death
This is a very spicy habanero hot sauce with a bit of smoky chipotle flavor coming through. A little goes a long way. My favorite way to use it is to add just a couple drops to guacamole. (kristinv)

Blair's Chipotle Slam
A good, basic chipotle hot sauce. Kinda spicy (nowhere near as spicy as their Death sauces). I didn't use it much, because there are other chipotle sauces I like better. (kristinv)

Blair's Jalapeno Tequila
This is one of my favorite Blair's sauces, and it's my second favorite green sauce. Everything you would expect from a good green sauce...tangy, flavorful and medium-spicy. (kristinv)

Blair's Wasabi Green Tea
A very unique hot sauce. Great if you like wasabi...couldn't really taste the green tea, though. I didn't use it much, because I had no idea what to put it on. Now that I'm thinking about it, it would probably go great on some veggie sushi. (kristinv)

Cholula Chili Garlic
A very garlicy sauce but milder than original Cholula. Tasty, but I don't use it very often, because it's milder than most hot sauces. (kristinv)

Cholula Original
Good general hot sauce for Mexican food, but I prefer Tapatio as far as Mexican-style hot sauces go. (kristinv)

Dave's Gourmet Insanity
Very spicy. I like to add a few drops to vegetable soup to give it some kick. Doesn't really add flavor...just heat. (kristinv)

Dave's Gourmet Scotch Bonnet
A tangy, flavorful sauce...I poured it on everything until the bottle was empty (in a matter of days). I received it as a gift, but I haven't been able to find it in stores. (kristinv)

Iguana Vicious Jalapeno
Not my favorite...has a strong vinegar flavor and tastes very salty despite not listing salt on the ingredients. (kristinv)

Melinda's Amarillo Mustard
A spicy, slightly-sweet mustard sauce. Haven't figured out what to use it on yet. (kristinv)

Melinda's Habanero XXXXtra Reserve
Not as spicy as you might expect from something labeled XXXXtra Hot. Heat-wise, it's on par with some other habanero sauces that I like to use. Tastes good on a variety of foods. (kristinv)

Original Juan Batch 114 Jamaican Style
An interesting and flavorful sauce. Spicy and a little sweet. Great for anything where you want to add Jamaican jerk flavor such as homemade patties. I've even used it to make a spicy "jerk" chex mix and jerk tofu jerky...so good!! (kristinv)

Pickapeppa Original
This might sound strange, but it reminds me a lot of steak sauce, only a little spicy with a touch of sweet. Would taste great with stews or lentil loaf (or other faux meatloaf). (kristinv)

Huy Fong Sambal Oelek
This is my go-to sambal. Tangy and spicy...goes great with basically any Asian-style food. (kristinv)

Huy Fong Sriracha
Good but not one of my favorites, since it only seems to work well with Asian-style foods. I don't really like it on non-Asian things, because the sugar in it makes it taste weird. (kristinv)

Tabasco Chipotle
Adds a nice, smoky chipotle flavor to any dish. I love to add a few splashes to my Chipotle burrito bowls. (kristinv)

Tabasco Original
It's a classic. I like to use it to spice up bean dip and on hashbrowns (if I'm at a restaurant). It's not the most interesting hot sauce, but it gets the job done. (kristinv)

Tabasco Green Jalapeno
I don't really like this sauce very much. It's okay, but there are better green sauces out there. (kristinv)

Taco Bell Fire
The best (spiciest) Taco bell sauce. I add this liberally to bean burritos. It's a MUST. (kristinv)

Taco Bell Fire-Roasted
Smoky with "medium" heat. I use it in combination with Fire sauce, so that my food is spicy enough. (kristinv)

Taco Bell Hot
Doesn't add much heat. Don't bother when you can use Fire. (kristinv)

Taco Bell Mild
Not spicy at all. I never use it. (kristinv)

Taco Bell Verde
I like the flavor, but it's not spicy, so I'll use it in combination with Fire sauce. (kristinv)

Tapatio Original
My favorite Mexican-style hot sauce! Hubby and I dump it on homemade tacos...soooo good! (kristinv)

Trader Joe's Jalapeno
I like it! Good flavor, medium-ish heat. Not quite as good as Arizona Gunslinger's Red Jalapeno, though. (kristinv)
