What are everyone's favorite beers & wines?
For wines I like the twist-off House Red and the good ole' Charles Shaw (I know I know)....but you can't beat 2-buck-Chuck! lol....
For beers....I used to really like Tequiza before they discontinued it and Oregon Honey Beer (not vegan)...but I also like pale ales and probably most funky-looking beers sold at Trader Joe's or Cost Plus. What are your fave beers or wines or other drinks of choice?
Thank you! I :)>>> Guinness, but it took a bit to get a direct statement from them about the vegan-friendliness of it. Confirmation would rock.
Next time I take the train I shall ask the 3 people I know who work there to ask their coworkers!
there is plenty other vegan friendly brews out there to worry about just one.
If I was getting the run around like that I would just move on to something new.
Possibly better.
In anticipation and hope that Guinness Extra Stout is vegan, I bought a pack of it tonight. In comes in a regular glass bottle and doesn't have that tab thing inside. It tastes like normal beer, not the Guinness of my dreams. Meh. After all of my glee, I'm going back to Sierra Nevada porter. I'm kind of sad.
If you are ever on the East Coast and can find Yuengling
they make a fine inexpensive beer and offer many varieties from dark to light.
When I do have my maybe a yearly drink it is the Black and Tan Yuengling.
Think that is the one I had last time.

The Yuengling Black and Tan is a mighty fine inexpensive beer!

oh boxed wine. michael played a show.... hmmm... dont remember where. it was during one of his tours. well the show was called "tour de franzia" haha. they had every kind of franzia boxed wine lined up on the counter. hehe i thought it was rather clever.
boxed wine is good
only thing that scares me from using it
is it comes in a plastic bag.
Not sure if the plastic they use is safe.
i wrote out a story with my last post but then deleted it about the bags in boxed wine. a friend of mine, her mother gave her old boxed wine... without the boxes. she just gave her several bags of wine. haha. it was so awkward to try to pour and it wasnt very appetizing, to be drinking wine out of a bag that someone else had to hold like a baby as you pour it.
When I was recovering from surgery I drank my wine out of a Zip N Squeeze bag!!!
:-D hardcore
I emailed Diageo again and got a different response from somebody else saying all their Guinness varieties have isinglass and this is annoying considering the other rep. emailed me that the 'extra stout' retained the extra yeast and didn't use isinglass to clarify the yeast....but the last time I was sipping on some guinness it kind of seemed to have a 'fishy' taste, i don't know if they use any seaweedy/mossy type ingredients as well, so I knocked on my neighbor's door and handed his the rest of the Guinness that was chilling in my fridge. I think they're lying to us Americans and it's all fishy :-X
