Miso and weight loss?

Is there any truth to the idea that miso somehow helps weight loss? Or is this just yet another Internet journal fad? I'd like to think it does, because I need to lose about 15 lbs still, and I love me some miso! but it IS salty and I have to be careful with salt.
NOT true.
That was a recent scandal here - it was introduced on a very popular TV series in the Kansai region here as being "tested" and "scientifically proven". In the end (this past winter), they ended up going to court over it.
Sorry to disappoint.

Well, YF, you know what they say, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Ah well, I can still enjoy eating miso.
I should have known better, I remember inheriting a whole stack of Readers Digests from someone who was leaving, and took them just to have something in English to read. Every single month they were propounding some new "wonder food" for health and weight loss, and almost every month a new "deadly poison, how dare you eat that!" food. I remember one was yogurt, supposedly someone who ate a yogurt every day lost 15 lbs in two weeks. However of course this went along with a healthy diet and exercise so....
Anyway we know miso IS good, and good for you, so I will eat it without expecting miracles.

;) Yeah, my mom is one to follow those things - oatmeal is good! no, it's bad. creme of wheat is IT. no, it's not.

It's just funny that you came across that when that story was just recently on the news here.

Now if I could just find something to get rid of the dark circles under my eyes...
If you do, let me know. ;) Some folks say dark circles come from allergies of various sorts. Personally, I think mine have come with age. :( My mineral makeup coverup helps some, but...

I have dark circles too, no matter how much sleep I get! I bought some blush that is lighter than what I wear on my cheeks and lightly brush that on under my eyes. Works pretty well. And I second the mineral makeup, I love that stuff!
