How do I know how many carbs I should eat? Spark people says 148-271 but I ate wayyyy over that many because I am supposed to be eating 2200 calories to gain weight. I am very confused. Also, does anyone ideas on how to reduce carbs?
I'm confused... why do you want to reduce carbs...
You're trying to gain weight, right?
because they are so heavy and make my feel like an elephant in the circus and i am allergic to wheat so that makes it hard too
Well I'd say you don't need to know numbers... just eat what will make you not feel full like that...
If you're allergic to wheat what kinds of "carbs" are you eating now?
Carbs in general really shouldn't make you feel that way... I assume you mean refined carbs?
first of all, if you're trying to gain weight, and you do any exercise at all, you may need more than 2,200 calories. but either way, it's easy to get those calories without eating a lot of carbs. nut butters and tahini (low in carbs), nuts, oils, avocado, and beans are all good ways to get calories without very high carbohydrates. but in my opinion, if you're already allergic to wheat, your carb intake probably isn't too high to begin with. and -- carbs are fantastic! don't be afraid of them - they are our major source of energy! :)
I think that 50-60% of your diet should come from carbs...

ditto! ;)
thanks
