what's up summer?
so i've been on summer vacation for a month now and i've learned a few things.
1. hangovers are not fun when you're a stay at home dad. makes the day long.
2. my new cookbook looks hard. i'm tryin' it out this week. i'll report back.
3. i need a spice rack.
4. my dad is still a redneck. the alabama trip was damn near impossible to stay vegan. i don't know how you people do it down there. (see below)
5. hash edibles from the dispensary are the bomb. keep those in high places away from dogs and kids.
6. babies poop a lot. (see below)
7. babies require a lot of things when you leave the house.
8. partied with this hawt chick at her first panic show. (see below)
9. my wife is still good at panic. (see below)
10. 3 day widespread panic benders require 2 full days of active recovery.
11. it's hard not to get hangovers in the summer.

i think we might head to target today and look for a rack.
all the racks i have seen at target already have freakin spices included... shit i have the spices, i just want an empty spice rack!!!
I got sick of my spice storage solutions - racks on the counter, on the wall, magnetic, in my drawers, in the pantry - all of them sucked and were never big enough. Finally I just spent the big bucks and bought a semi-custom one from these guys:
http://www.zipcabs.com/
Then I bought amber glass jars that hold 1/2 cup each (a standard spice-jar size)...something like 50 or 60 cents each from here:
http://www.specialtybottle.com/
My spice rack holds 60 of these jars, which I labeled with removable sticker labels, and it has been great for the past 4 years. Cost me a little over $200 (it was technically a combo birthday/Christmas gift to me from my husband to justify the cost) and I don't have to get frustrated over it anymore. If I had done it in the first place instead of trying to save money, I probably would have ended up ahead.
40 - 45 centigrade? what is that...... like 160 fahrenheit?
No, sweetie. Only about 105-115.
We have on occasion got up to 120.
you're not very good at this.
At what?
I'm having a horrible summer
we're having a 5 day heat wave here and it's HORRRRRIBLEEE.
no air conditioning and it's 90 outside - 80 right now, at midnight.
crazyyyyyyy
It has been in the 90's for over a month and I don't have AC. Humidity is a bitch in Nashville too. I don't care about your 5 day heatwave.
That's cool that you don't care!
THANKS!!! I THINK SO TOO!!!!!!!

WOOOOOO!
everyone who lives in places that aren't semi temperate is crazy. CRAZY!
and i still reserve the right to complain about being too hot or too cold.
AC basically doesn't exist in Germany. Luckily it cooled down the past couple of days, but man, it was hot. I got my first heat rash and it looks like I have giant hickies on my neck.
I quit my German class so that I could have a month off to have fun before I start work. So far I've been hanging out at home, sleeping in and reading. Ahhh summer.

Well, various reasons....that don't always include liking the weather.

"Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit." Oscar Wilde, who was way better at it than you are.
even though it gets super hot and super cold here, I love having all the seasons.

I detest cold weather. But this summer has more than made up for it.

I just wish she'd stop calling cows stupid.

I like cows that are cows. I don't like cows that are women.
