Reasons to smile
I guess not everyone needs to find a reason, but... What made you smile and/or laugh today?
My first LOL of the day was caused by this LOLdog.
I went to the uniform laundry room at work yesterday, to ask if I could try on a size smaller in my trousers. And they fit! The laundry lady asked me if I needed a new shirt, too, so I tried the next size down in that, too. And it fit! Wow. My pants had been slipping down my hips a little for weeks, but last week they got ridiculously slippy. So happy to have confirmation that my body's changing shape/size a little. :iloveyou:
Humming along to the occasional good song at work... it's amazing how much it can lift my mood. ;)b
Overhearing customers' reactions when they can't decide whether flowers are real or not. It's hilarious either way - when they think fake are real, or real are fake. ;D
I am listening to cruisy 60s tunes on my new sexy sexy red and shiny record player/radio and planning all the vinyls I need to buy...
After complaining about the state of radio for ages, as soon as I got my record player I stumbled across an awesome station that plays REAL MUSIC...
The music makes me think of dancing the blues with my man and how that's the best feeling in the world...

God is good. My family woke up today and none of us are sick! We paid what we had to pay, bought what we had to buy, gassed up the vehicles and have some $$$ leftover to start the week.
Excellent!! It's great to have reasons to be even more "risueña" than usual!!
I have one too, I have picked up a student who wants 8 hrs a week. It may not last, but then again it may. And if it lasts till October he will bring along a friend. I have to make them understand that they DO each have to pay, though!!

I tutor Eng Lit and English, from home. For peanuts, because they come to me. I know I work for very cheap because of that, which is why it makes me mad that they try to "negotiate."
I used to want to teach English. I wish I had pursued that endeavor.

I gave my students a survey, and one of the questions was, "How do you like to be rewarded for a job well done?"
Rashaun raised his hand and said, "I'm not answering this question. I don't like it."
Me: "Oh, why not?"
Rashaun *serious face*: "You shouldn't be rewarded for doing good--you're just supposed to do it!"
I woke up this morning to my alarm clock, not horrible stomach pains followed by four hours of painful vomiting, AND my sickness is going away. I just have a little cough.
I HAVE MADE A NEW FRIEND HERE!! Just one. But it is progress.
Today I did all the dishes and my roommate that is not Sean told me I was awesome.

That's the one. I never quite grew up. Some days I'm as old as God, and some days I'm ony fwee. Besides, Arnold and I share the same passion for ducks.

Today is my birthday AND I get to have an interview at this really great cafe that is within walking distance of my apartment and would be basically the most incredible work environment ever (for exapmle-- I have an interview with one of the owners as well as with two of the baristas, they take their 'teamwork' employee atmosphere really seriously)
AND It isn't a million degrees in Berkeley like it has been.
AND I baked bread yesterday so that meant breakfast was fantastic this morning.
AND Tonight may very well be the night that I complete my training program at Peace Action West and means that I get a pay raise and secured position. Sweeet :D
And because it is my birthday all of my friends from home have been calling and getting to talk to them is so fantastic ;)b

I got the hair cut and coloured this morning, even if it meant going down at the unearthly hour of 8 AM to make sure I was first! (she opens at 8.30). The haircut I love is back in style (kind of a 20s bob) and I feel like a million bucks.
Time expanded nicely today and I got more done than I expected to.
One of my grad students has called to tell me he needs me to do some more proofreading. And my BGF asked me to hem some curtains for her...for cash. Whee! another spoonful in my cup.

I hear you there. This morning one of my cats crawled into a pair of my boxers that were on the floor when I was taking a shower and rolled around in them. It was sooooo cute. :)
