Yo. Just tell me what you think. Also, do you think this question is sexist?
I will tell you my thoughts in a few.

"stronger" is a very broad term.
Physically, yes, men are stronger.
Emotionally, no, they are not.
Also, it is a scientific fact that they male brain can not tolerate the levels of pain that women can. If a man experience child birth, they would die. I had a MALE neurology teacher to told us this in class. How they know this...I would rather not think about it...
Also, I don't think many men could handle the things women can...being a single parent for instance. Some men can, but not many. Some men, like my babies father, can't handle being a father at all. In my experience, most men are cowards.
No, men are definately weaker than women!

hmm, I don't really count the sort of stoicism expected of men to be emotional strength. I don't think expressing emotion is weak, nor is taking it into consideration when making decisions weak. I feel like because men are socialized to show very little emotion compared to women (in Canada anyway), it would take a stronger man to show his true feelings because he'd be outside the stoic role assigned to him.
as for strength..well, everyone else has pretty much covered it.

I've always said that if a woman can push a baby out of her what-not, then she can do just about anything a man can do...with that in mind, I still find women's basketball BORING. ;D But all seriousness aside, I've known physically/emotionally/mentally/spiritually strong/weak men/women...we've all got a thing 'er three we could learn from each other.

there is a lot of gender roles/socialization here also. western society tells men to hide their emotions and for women to "put them out there" (women are emotion, men are not). in other times and places in history these have been different.
physical strongness also has some of the same issues. boys are encouraged more than girls to play in ways that build muscle and strength. part of girls being weaker is socialized but, like most things, there is a lot of overlap in things like strength. some women are a lot stronger than men. i'm sure i'm stronger tan some med even though i'm a wimp. but i'm lifting and working on that. :)
This is EXACTLY what I was thinking as I read through this thread. Men are not necessarily physically stronger than women, nor are women necessarily emotionally stronger than men. It's all a social construction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
