I just messaged P to tell him..

that someone broke into our apartment and burned a charred small black circle onto the top of our coffee table.

but really it happened because I stuck a tea tag (WHICH I TOLD HIM ABOUT) into the votive candle holder that was burning on top of the coffee table.

Apparently pretty large flames do get hot enough to go through thin glass and burn wood.

wow!

his response:

1. WTF is this bweable

2. (after explanation) Doesn't bother me! Still works great as a surface to place objects on, regardless of blemishes!

eek. i once had something like that happen once. i had a candle burning in a little glass votive on a coaster that was made out of either shell or that flaky rock type stuff, and it went through and burned a little black spot and cracked the whole coaster! o.0

When they say "do not leave unattended" that's exactly what they mean.  :o

Just do it a bunch more times all over the table.  Then, instead of a blemish, it will be a design.  ;)

(When I first read that I thought you said tea *bag* and I was trying to figure out how a wet tea bag would do anything but put the candle out...and why you would put a tea bag in a candle.  ::) )

I was attending to it! The flame looked quite nice.

Is tea tag much better than tea bag? It just seemed...like a fun thing to do. I even told P while it was burning, "for future reference, tea tags make quite large, long flames...if we ever need some heat or light."

Thank you to the people for pointing out tea TAG.  I read tea bag, too.  I think she originally wrote it that way.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo. Obviously, a tea BAG would do nothing, but put out the flame. Idiots. Tea TAG makes a bonfire.

That's a lot of protesting.  Is it to cover BAG?

You should look into getting a mini one of these.  You can sell tea tag logs on craigslist.
