The Express Yourself Thread

The News & Debate board was designed to be a space to explore differing points of view. The Chit Chat board is a place for friendly banter. Lately, conflict posts have appeared on the Chit Chat board. This diminishes the usability of that board for people who want to come her for a peacable good time. I'm starting this thread so that if people need to vent, they can do it here - keeping in mind the forum rules.
eta: I'm planning to move my deeper conversations with people on Chit Chat to this thread. It's kind of off-putting going into it as the "venting" thread. So, alas, there's no more vending machine.
>:D Thank you for posting so I could quote you.
I was trying to point out that we don't make people disappear, but that spam is removed. mkm understood that in context of your thank you thread so I thought it would help contextually in explaining that removing spam has nothing to do with cliques and power.
I think that it's nice that people who know the lay of the land reach out to newcomers. I wish someone would do that for me at the gym.

Come work out with me, double h. These arms are open, albeit a little flabby.
If I drove to your place I'd learn how each piece of equipment works and how to adjust it faster than if I left for the gym right now. Get out yer gym gear, I'm on my way!

I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE"RE YELLING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just thought I 'd say that I am a newbie, and I have always felt welcomed! Everyone here is great, and it is to be expected that the "oldtimers" like to respond to one another, they have been friends for a long time, but they have always included me, and don't worry everyone, someday we will all be "oldtimers" too! lol

I'm so glad you feel welcome!
I've been on ppk as long as I have been on vegweb, and I still feel like a newbie there.

I think it is important to try to be very clear in your posts regarding your tone, inflection and opinions. I especially find it difficult to take posts with a lot of drama or unyielding arguments seriously. Why should people contribute to a post that is so slanted one way that any dissenting opinions are shouted down before they can even be posted? That's not discussion, its looking for confirmation of one's opinion.
Should you not be savvy on things like trolls, flame baiting or spam please just simply withhold your judgment until more information is available.
I think it is exactly like others have posted in various threads; you get back what you put in. Send positive posts out, receive positive posts in. Try to express yourself politely, clearly and without personal attacks or insults. (Yourself meaning every poster.) Should you find yourself uninterested or unhappy at a specific post then you always have the option of not reading or checking updates for it. Same goes for specific posters should you find yourself at odds with someone.
Remember, you are here of your own accord. Should the forum seem too "lame" or "cliqueish" to you, then please feel free to exercise your right to not participate.
Express yourself...reminds me of those signs that say Espresso Yourself. I have friends who put this sign up in their kitchen after blacking out some letters, so now it says Piss Off.
also, nice work, theo! I forgot all about how funny that character issss ;D
