Credit..

So basically my credit is a heaping pile of shit. A pile of shit thats been ran over and left to bake in the sun shitty. But I am now able to start paying off all of my debt, but it will take close to an eternity to pay it all down. I have a budget that allows me to pay all of my current bills on time and pay my delinquent ones too every month and still have some money to have fun with.
My question is how long will it be until my hard work will show up on my credit report/ score?
it takes seven years for stuff to get off your credit report. If you have been making payments regularly, you can ask them, in writing, to remove bad stuff from long ago. They may or may not do it.
seven years for delinquencies to be removed, but your credit score will be affected way sooner. every time you make a payment (or miss one) it affects your score, right? so i would guess no more than three months. but maybe 6 months to a year for a dramatic change. i am jsut guessing too, definitely not an expert
Long, long time, man. Sorry to burst any bubble you may have had.
Credit companies are notoriously unforgiving. And they just stay the hell with you. Like a stinky, lingering fart. You walk to another room to try to escape it, but there it is- following you.
At least you're in a position to start fixing it! There's a light at the end of the tunnel!
Yes, the light at the very very long and horrible tunnel.
Okay, I just called a debt counseling service for help and they are sending me some info on the program. They are not scammers and I did a little research and they are legit. I just hope they can work out something good for me.

I'm doing a happy dance for you. Just make sure they're not based out of East St. Louis ;)

I get joke. I don't think the worst credit in the world would be worth going there to fix it.

I used Genus credit management, and they were great to work with. 1-800-955-0412. Working with them actually helped rebuild my credit.

Make sure you aren't paying anybody for a debt counseling service- the "real" legit ones are non-profit organizations who will help you with no fees whatsoever. Like these guys: http://www.creditcounseling.org/. My bf used them and they were very helpful.
yes, as greenT said, make sure it's non profit. they should not ask you for any money up front
It's non profit.
