There are conference rooms in the building where I work that host meetings for very diverse groups. Today I rode up the elevator with a gentleman who works as a policeman for the Texas Cattleman's Association. I asked him, "Do they still rustle cattle in Texas." He said, "Yes, ma'am, they do. If they didn't, I'd be out of a job!" I said, "If everyone was like me, a vegetarian, you'd also be out of a job." And then he said, "No, ma'am, then they'd steal vegetables!"
Perfect comeback from this gentle man! ;) My point in posting the story is that the omnivores would adapt if their jobs that are based on animal agriculture went away!

On our way back from San Antonio the last time we went, we were passing corn fields with the most glorious looking stalks and probably ears on them. The corn in the grocery stores had been so pathetic looking. My DH said that he wished he was sinful enough to steal a few ears. So yeah, people would steal vegetables!
