Hey Everyone!
Does anyone know if there is anything vegan at iHop? We just had one built in Ann Arbor and I wanted to try it--but I can't find any nutritional or ingreident info on their products (probably not a good sign...)
I could really go for some good pancakes!

And I didn't know you went vegan, Capture! Good for you! :D And really--don't feel bad about wanting go out with your friends!! That's a completely normal feeling! You just have to figure out ways to tweak it, so it can be enjoyable & fulfilling for all of you! Are there any restaurants in your area that specialize in vegan food? For instance, in Minneapolis we have Pizza Luce, which is AMAZING & uses lots of fresh, local ingredients, but offers both meat & cheese options, as well as delicious vegan food. Maybe you could suggest something like that sometime instead of IHOP?
Thanks Jess! YEP>>I'm a new baby vegan--but I stress that I am on a trial basis--I'm about 2 weeks in, and so far it has been really easy--but I do hear the far off calls of cheese pizza and goopy nachos! If I faulter, hopefully I'll be able to pickup the pieces--but for the time being I'm going with the term "vegan lite" since I know things slip in beyond my control!
We do have some vegan restaurants--but they are pricey and mostly ethnic, I have pretty unadventureous friends--most of them live off fast food *barf* I think I'll just stick to meeting up with them at cafe's! Pretty safe there!
Thanks for the love!
Thanks everyone...I feel less pathetic :-[
We are all in this together! ;)
So yeah, I stopped at Bk the other night and HAD to try the onion rings after reading about them here. I did enjoy them at the time, but now whenever I think about it I get nauseated! :P I don't think I will be doing THAT again anytime soon!

Sorry you're not feeling well :'(
When ever I have a really long absence from fast food and then try some (like some greasy fries or a bean burrito), I always get really sick--I just absolutly stay away from it now--besides, I hate spending my hard earned $$ at these places that contribute to so much that our community hates! I would love for these places to just disappear over night!
agree, IMHO the best pancakes i have ever had are the beer pancakes i make! nom nom nom.
hold up...beer pancakes?? i have a special place in my belly for beers and beer foods... just searched and found the q&a thread with their mention, and i will surely give these a shot! yum, beer and pancakes...mmmmm....(all homer simpson style)
re: Burger King's veggie burger - my bf stopped there on a layover during a business trip and ordered a veggie burger; the person that worked there asked if he wanted bacon on it!?! silly and not necessarily anything to do w/ihop, but the BK talk made me remember that story...
did you try them? aren't they great. i don't know if i mentioned it in that thread, but i made them with a pancake recipe on here. i think something like 'the best pancakes ever, vegan or otherwise' and i use half soymilk half beer. yum yum. whenever we have parties at my house (you might think this is gross) i take abandoned half empty beers and start making everyone pancakes ;)
They make their hashbrowns using oil, not butter. (Wafflehouse uses butter). This was back in the day when I first asked, so, not sure if it's still the case.
They also make a vegetarian omelette with black beans and salsa and stuff now- so maybe you can get that without the eggs/cheese/sour cream.
wouldn't an ihop omelette minus eggs (and that other stuff) just be the "black beans, salsa, and stuff"?
i don't think they do the tofu omelettes there.
