How to say "vegetarian/vegan" in foreign languages?

I'm interested if you guys have heard any cool or interesting terms (or slang) for vegetarians and vegans in foreign countries or languages.
I've heard "vejjo" is Australian slang for vegetarian, but that is about all I know. After taking three years of French, I don't know what vegetarian is en francais. I imagine it's something similar to English though.
This is American Sign Language for vegetarian: http://www.signingsavvy.com/sign/VEGETARIAN/6553/1 It's basically the signs for eating meat, and then no. I forget what the sign is when your palms face each other and you move them straight down like outlining the sides of a box, but I digress.
Do you know any?

well, en français, it's végétarien (male) or végétarienne (female) as in Il est un végétarien. (He is a vegetarian) Elle est une végétarienne. (She is a vegetarian)
OR... un alimentation régime végétarien (a vegetarian diet.)
in italian it's vegetariano (male) È un vegetariano (He is a vegetarian) or vegetariana (female) È una vegetariana (She is a vegetarian)
and abenaki it's...complicated. They usually refer to you as a mglazi nolka, which is "belly like a deer".
It seems to usually be some variation of the same thing. In Spanish it's vegetariano/a. I think vegan is vegano/a.
In German vegetarian = vegetarisch and vegan = vegan. But with different cases you get the different endings (veganes, veganer). I've never heard any slang for vegan.

And vegan is "végétalien" (-enne). I learned that word when I was 15 traveling in France. The word exists, but the concept apparently did not, as my aunt kept making me things like goat cheese or lentil salad with foie gras. :)
in spanish there's no word for vegan so we usually just say vegetariano stricto.
