There is a vegetarian one on the menu (I think the one I've gotten is something like a vegetarian fajita burrito). But anyway, it's the kind of place where they build it while you're in line and ask you what you want in it (like Subway). So it's very easy to make sure you don't get anything you don't want in your burrito.

we don't have a chipotle near me, but when i've been to them in the past i remember being excited about the options but not thinking the food was anything too spectacular, good for sure, but nothing life changing. i would def go back again though.
my burritos of choice, however, come from this great place caled Dos Amigos Burritos, its a chain but they only have locations in NH, I think. (their motto is get your daily dos, how cute!) They have so many vegetarian options including a guac burrito, roasted red pepper burrito, veggie chili burrito, roasted veggie burrito and some others i can't remember. they're also always super nice about letting me get guac instead of the dairy or extra salsa or something. AND they have those cards you can stamp each time you get one and then get a free one after like you buy ten or something, i love me free food ;)b

hmmm...I always find it pretty disappointing. $5 for some black beans, spinach and a dollap of guacamole? hmm do y'all have Qdoba..? it's pretty similar, but with a much expanded and tastier menu. yummy.

We are Chipotle fans here.
Last week I was out shopping with sweetpea and I asked her what she wanted to eat or if she wanted to go home. She started saying something and I couldn't understand her (2 yo) so I called my husband. Crazy girl was asking for Chipotle's! I think I will have to start getting the bowls or get one just for her she eats so much! ;D

I went to Chipotle yesterday for the first time. I got the vegetarian burrito bowl and chips. The bowl was quite a large portion, and the bag of chips was good-sized as well. My total was $7 exactly, which I thought was fairly reasonable considering the amount of food. I really liked the food. The guacamole had a nice kick of lime, and the chips were perfectly thin and crispy. The cilantro-lime rice was pretty tasty. All in all, I enjoyed my meal, and I'll return in the future.

I haven't been to Chipotle in about 2 years because they charged me extra for a dollup of salsa in my burrito! Seriously?!?!?! Put the freakin free salsa bar out like every other taqueria/burrito place! I've boycotted them ever since. (Ummm... do they still charge extra for salsa?? They just built one a couple miles from my house but I'm still too pissed off to go! My poor husband).

VeganChristine, maybe you just went to a stingy store. My veg burrito bowl was loaded up. I got 2 kinds of salsa, the fresh tomato and the roasted chili-corn, as well as a ton of guacamole over the top (yay, I hate when places only give you only a little bit of guac, especially when I'm leaving off the cheese and sour cream (not to mention the meat)--the most expensive ingredients!). Maybe try again.

It boggles my mind that people enjoy this place. Maybe I'm spoiled with the delicious burritos I can get elsewhere in California... but Chipotle is seriously not very good (AND VERY SALTY!)

You are spoiled, secondbase!! I used to live in SF a decade ago, and I totally miss the taquerias with their monster veg burritos and yummy agua frescas--oh, what I'd give for a fresh cantaloupe one! In my neck of the woods, currently, there's not even a Chipotle (I was an hour from home yesterday.). The only mex options are Taco Bell and Del Taco--nasty!

Thanks, Willwolf. I'll give them another shot based on your happy experience. My husband and I eat out a lot, mostly at taquerias/burrito places because we love Mexican food, and we're always looking for additions to our Mexican circuit, so hopefully my experience goes well. I do have to agree that the SF Bay Area offers lots of yummy (cheap!) Mexican food... lucky us. :pig:

I finally went last night. I STILL don't like the way they have to monitor the salsa in my burrito and limit us to a tiny cup of salsa for our big bag of salty chips. I got the (GIGANTIC) veggie burrito with no cheese/sour cream. They go heavy on the guac (no complaints here). My burrito had a really nice flavor - very good. Oh, and the girl about to make my burrito actually asked, after dumping barbacoa on my husband's tacos, if I wanted her to change her gloves before making mine. Nice.

Love Chipotle. Thing that I don't like is how much they load you with rice and give you so few black beans. The rice is awesome, but it's way too disproportionate.
