To Who it may concern,
I’m writing this letter  because when I recently ate at your restaurant and noticed the lobster tank in the  lobby. I was very disturbed by this. I understand that you serve lobster in your establishment and I am not asking you to discontinue that practice. This arcade game however, seems  unnecessary. My concern is that a game such as this one, causes unnecessary trauma to the animals before they are used for food. I’m also concerned about what sort of  message this sends to the children and people who patronize your  restaurant, it seems that making a sport of these animals last minuets is cruel. As a fine business person, such as your self, I’m sure you do not want to encourage cruelty to animals.
I suggest a remedy to this situation is to  keep the living lobsters in a  traditional tank rather than  “The Lobster  Zone.“ If you still wish to have an opportunity for your customers to win lobsters, perhaps you could use the plastic lobsters that are so abundant in toy stores this time of year?  I respectfully request that you do not sell the game to be used in another restaurant, as it would simply encourage  this violence to take place elsewhere.
I look forward to continuing to support your business in the future, once this issue is resolved. Pleas let me know what you decide to do, so I can know when to go back and enjoy the unique  aspects of your  restaurant.

Sincerely,
Zealia A******

I think the idea of replacing the lobsters with toys is a good way to meet in the middle on this.

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is in regards to the lobster tank in the lobby of your restaurant. I was very disturbed by this when I recently ate at your establishment.

I understand that you serve lobster I am not asking you to discontinue that practice. However, this arcade game of customers playing for and winning the lobster to be consumed at their next meal seems unnecessary. My concern is that a game such as this one causes unneeded trauma to the animals before they are used for food. I am also concerned about what sort of message this sends to the patrons of your restaurant, especially children. It seems that making a sport of these animals’ last minutes is cruel.

As a fine business person, such as yourself, I am certain you understand that the suffering of livings creatures does not look good for your restaurant and that you do not want to encourage cruelty to animals.

I suggest a remedy to this situation. Consider keeping the living lobsters in a traditional tank rather than “The Lobster Zone.“ If you still wish to have an opportunity for your customers to win lobsters, perhaps you could use the plastic lobsters that are so abundant in toy stores this time of year. I respectfully request that you do not sell the game to other restaurants, as it would simply encourage this violence to take place elsewhere.

I look forward to continuing to support your business in the future, once this issue is resolved.

I'd call the business and get the name of the owner or manager and address it to that person.

Very nice letter, Zealia, and very nice edit, Laura!  And I DO like the idea of replacing the live lobster tank "toy" with a tank game with toy lobsters.  Very clever!

You could simply say:

I would like to know what you decide to do about this matter. Please let me know when you come to a final decision.

Or something...

I understand that you serve lobster I am not asking you to discontinue that practice.

This is two statements...so, you should do:

I understand that you serve lobster, and I am not asking you to discontinue this practice. or

I understand that you serve lobster; I am not asking you to discontinue this practice.

(thank you Laura!)
(Charbot Kimzoid, I also got that change about "it seems that... "you are right. it sounds better and is less wishy-washy.)

It seems that making a sport of these animals’ last minutes is cruel.

I think you should get rid of the "it seems that" part and just have "Making a sport of these animals' last minutes is cruel."
I think it would get the point across better.
