OK, you guys always help out Davedrum pick out wonderful doggie names whenever he rescues. I thought you could maybe give me some good ideas too. I have never been real good at naming anything. I had a hamster for 2 years once and it took me 2 months to just start calling him Hammy. I know, I know.....I'm ingenious! ;) This precious little boxer needed a home, but I have no idea what to call her and my DH says I'm the one that gets to name her. She is my very first dog.

What a pretty girl! :)
Here are a few "recycled" names of some of my rescues:
Pixie
Snuggles (as in Snugglepuss)
Bubbles
Apple
Personally.......She looks like a "Bubbles" to me!
Good luck with her!

PS: Please Please Please!....now that you have a new pup....get the book I have mentioned a million times here: The Nature of Animal Healing. I think every dog or cat companion should read it. Having a new puppy for the first time would really be the best time for both you and your husband to read it......but in the long run...she'll (insert name here) thank you for reading it.....with a long long healthy life! :)
i think she looks like a Sasha or a hmmmm..... idk
She looks rather "fierce" yeah right, so you need a tuff kind of name. Like Rizzo! (You know, looks tuff but heart of gold)
As a long-time dog trainer, a few tips: don't give your dog a name you don't want to shout in a park full of people because it sounds dumb or might be considered offensive (like naming a dog Taffy and then moving to Wales, yeah?) Nobody wants to shout, "Here, Tooty-boots" in public, now do they!
Don' t give a name that is more than 2 syllables long, you'll end up shortening it in the first place, and anyway you want something you can rap out to get the dog's attention.
And I recommend not giving a name that starts with S because of the main commands: Sit, Stay, Stand, etc. Go for a "round" sound like Max, Thor, etc. (those are male names but you get me.
That said, she looks like a Rizzo.
This is so funny, we just ended up with a puppy this weekend too! And its a female & we are having a hard time thinking of names. I'm probaby going to end up stealing one of the names you guys suggested. Mine is part rottie part shephard, a little bit of border collie & who knows what else :) By the way, from having a Boxer mix myself, I want to warn you that they can be pretty destructive & I would recommend you crate train her.
omg!! *gush* that pup is adorable! And I loooove boxers ~ they're a really great breed :)
I found this info... it might help pick out a name for your cutie~pie:
"The Boxer originated in Germany in the late 19th century. This breed's name was supposedly derived from the "boxing" motion they made with their front paws. Boxers are stocky and medium in size with strong jaws and a powerful bite. They are widely used in search and rescue, police work, and military work.
Character: Boxers are lively, strong, and extremely loyal. They have an exceedingly high energy level. They carry themselves with pride, but are never arrogant. They have a stoic stance, and are intelligent, loving, delightful companions."
I'll have to think of a name but I really like Rizzo. Congrats on your new addition to your family!
I second MOLLY!
I have always been a fan of really human names for animals. None of this Shnuggles stuff!
So also: Gertie, or Sasha!
I have a Lola, and its really popular. We run into other Lola's quite frequently.
According to wikipedia: "It is also true that Boxers have a very long puppyhood and adolescence, and are often called the "Peter Pan" of the dog world." So maybe she's a Wendy.
For some reason, I really like Wendy. If I ever adopt a boxer, and it's a girl, I'll name her Wendy.
She looks like a Phoebe to me. But Molly's pretty good too!
Conragulations on your first puppy! She is a beautiful girl! I think she looks like a Bridie (pronounced Bride-dee). :D It's Celtic/Gaelic meaning "exalted, lofty." Just has a sweet, energetic look to her which the name sounds like and then add the fine line of her heritage for the "exaltedness." ;) I second Davedrum's reccomendation on The Nature of Animal Healing.
Miss Bette Davis?
I love that name for a tough looking little boxer!
I vote for Molly
How about Sidra?
That is what I named my new kitten, it means star-like in latin. I picked it because she is my little shining star. You puppy is really cute but she looks like a handful! I am with you, I have a my hands full with my new kitten as well!!
Chana Masala (Chana for short)
or
Chickpea

That explains why "sidra" means "cider" in Spanish....like stars in the mouth! Our sidra is sparkling and has alcohol in it. Apple champagne if you will.
Abigail --- Abby
Josie
Simone
ok, you HAVE to pick a name...
because i keep thinking and thinking...i may have to get another dog myselfjust to name it! ;D
and let us know what you finally decide!
Chana Masala (Chana for short)
or
Chickpea
Well, it might not be the name chosen for the pup but you just gave my little pale green/pale yellow budgie a name.
As of right now, his name is Chickpea.
Thank you so much!!!!!
Di
Hey everyone!! The DH and I finally decided on a name. Only after 3 days of debate. We went with Bella. So, thanks to those of you that suggested that name. It seemed like such a good name after people (other than me) thought of it. I was also fighting for Lola and Pistachio. I think he figured Bella was best. Hehe. ;D THANKS AGAIN!!! ;)
Bella is a great name. I'm sure she'll like it, too.
I have a friend with a Rottweiller named Bella. She is a really sweet dog too! :) Congrats on your new friend!
Please post more photos of Bella when you can - she seems like such a sweet little puppy! I bet you could get those intro pics on Cute Overload (a site I'm addicted to, btw).
