Doggie with flea allergy

Please help! My terrier Jack is allergic to fleas. I have tried so many different kinds of powders, liquids, collars, etc. Does anyone know of any natural flea repellents that I could try? I hate to keep using all this chemical crap on him, but he really needs some relief.

I haven't tried this personally, but my friend with two dogs and two outside cats swears by it. It is called Cedar-cide http://www.cedarcidestore.com/ANIMALHEALTH.html. Apparently she just sprays it on the legs/bellies of her pets when they go out and they are fine.

There are plenty of opinions on this. I've tried many natural remedies, but now rely on Frontline. It's pricey, but it works and provides protection from ticks as well. Ridding the house of fleas is important too. Keep your lawn cut and clear of debris, vacuum carpets and wash what fabrics you can (especially pet related things) with Dr Brommer's Eucalyptus soap, as flea don't like eucalyptus. Good luck. Just so you know, flea collars don't work and can be harmful to your dog.

I use Comfortis for my dogs, and it seems to work good. Frontline didn't do anything for fleas. I guess they build up an immunity depending on what is used a lot in the area?

I believe you can get cedar chip bedding that helps a lot. Fleas don't like the oils in cedar. Also adding garlic to his food might help deter them.
There are tons of sites out there for resources on natural remedies on this kind of thing. I get that you'd prefer not to go chemical but I know Advantage works as well...
