Just for fun--cheesy song lyrics? (NVR)
I was listening to some of DH's old tunes and heard Paul Anka's "Diana" for the first time. I almost fell out of my chair! OK; so he's talking about dating a woman older than himself, in the days before the concept of "toyboy" became acceptable. But how cheesy is it to start a supposed lovesong with:
"I'm so young and you're so old,
This my darling I've been told"? :-D :-D
I mean, way to make brownie points with the lady in question! Even tho he goes on to say, "I don't care just what they say"--sounds like he's backpeddling!
Why not try, "They say I'm too young for you,
But you know my love is true," or something like that? (Not to go into the melody itself...)
