Silk soy milk creamer

Yes, I tried it. Not bad. I tried the french vinalla ... a little too sweet. I also tried the plain creamer. Much better :)
Ok here's what I'm talking about. When I became vegan, I wanted something similar to half and half in my coffee. This was the only Non-vegan thing I was using (diet-wise) since August. But plain soy milk didn't cut it. I don't drink milk or eat cereal, ect. Coffee is the only thing I use "milk" for. I needed something "thick" like half and half (or tasted like it). I finally found something I like.
BUT I heard there was another brand out there. Can you guys/gals help me out? I think it was rice milk or something like that. Or another type of soy milk that was similar to half and half.
i never found anything to replace my beloved half and half
the soy creamer seemed just as thin and watery as the regular soy/rice milk
I just had to get used to it
is coffee mate non dairy creamer vegan?
:( Sadly, the Coffee Mate powder is not vegan. I just looked at the container yesterday since we had some at work. Cannot remember specifically whether it was whey or some other dairy-derived ingredient, but it is definitely not vegan.
i think that silk creamer is pretty good. i got it once to use in white russians... delicious.
Mocha Mix Non Dairy Creamer (liquid not powdered)
Hi Everyone! A lot of you may already be aware of this info but...
I researched Mocha Mix Original Non-Dairy Creamer and I found that it contains NO animal ingredients.
I have recently discovered that just because a product is labeled "non-dairy" it can still contain certain animal derived ingredients (such as caesin, for example). It really ticks me off how some companies still find a way to "sneak" in animal ingredients...it makes me a quite the skeptic!!!
When I was reading/dissecting the label ingredients for this product, I was especially concerned about the following ingredients:
Polysorbate 60
Sodium Steroyl Lactylate
Beta Carotene
So, I called the company (Bay Valley Foods 800-236-1119) and spoke with a rep. We went over the above ingredients and she said they are all commercially derived and DO NOT contain ANY animal ingredients.
Just thought I'd share my findings! Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

jeeze, i know!! i hate having to completely read ingrediants at the store. with all the "whey or contains less than 2%"
ahhhh. it's so annoying. just put a label that says vegan. haha. please.
Boy do I wish that there was a vegan grocery store! That is where I would shop...hey, not a bad idea...business idea? Maybe I should start one!
I'm lucky. I've been a black coffee drinker since I was a teenager. Can't drink it any other way.
If you've never given black coffee a go you might want to try it. A lot of people are under the impression that black coffee tastes bitter but that really isn't the case unless you don't know how to make coffee. It actually has a kind of rich, nutty taste I think. I usually put a splash of cold water in the bottom of my cup, fill it with coffee and drink it. That helps cool it to about the same temp as milk or cream would.
That's a good thought, Kbone. Since I started using Silk soy milk, I also cut down on sugar for some reason (in my coffee). I wasn't trying, I just did. I know my best friend drinks black coffee, and she loves it (she's vegan, also). I may give it a go this weekend (I don't wanna try it at work. I may freak if I don't like it, because I take my own coffee LOL).
Ive had to get used to black coffee since I dont frequent coffeeshops but I like coffee at restaurants and such and they very rarely have soymilk on hand
i can handle it now, but its no where near as god
I dislike soy creamers immensely because they are so all-fired sweet... I want one that is less so! I don't care how "beany" it is, just... maybe not so treacly! So I know what you mean...
I thiught the silk soy creamer was gross!!!!!!!!!!! half and half is the only thing keeping me from vgan, I only use it for my morning cup of coffee. If anyone knows of something that tastes good....please! let me know! :(
rice milk and just get used to it, worked for me and I used to love my coffee bright white from a ton of half and half
hmm, i will have to try this silk creamer of which you speak. i have been working on perfecting a signature drink at work (a cafe), it's a french soda, i call the "french kiss". i've been trying to find good half and half substitutes, but nothing so far is working.
do you all think it would work in a soda?
I'm going to try the Mocha Mix, it sounds delicious...I am currently using the Silk Vanilla creamer and I need to pour 1/2 of the carton in my coffee to get it to turn the slightest shade of beige. This is starting to get expensive :D
There was a recent post about different types of tofu sour cream and yogurt and one brand was mentioned (that brand I can't recall at the moment) and it turned out one of the marketing guys/girls or owner or distributer was on vegweb and wrote in and answered a bunch of questions and gave his (I think it was a guy) e-mail for anyone wanting a coupon....do any of you remember this post? It was only a month or so ago, but I can't find it. I think he had a Simpson's character for a avatar...(I may have just made that up).
Anyway, they have a soy creamer that doesn't have so much of a "fake" taste (which is my issue with Silk creamer).

I used to drink my tea with milk; never much cared for real cream or creamer. I got used to using plain soy milk instead. I find that I just have to use more of it to get the same effect as milk. Rice milk and almond milk are totally inadequate, IMHO--just not thick enough.
