H.R. 5843 (Relevant to any American)
This bill, introduced in the House by Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), will decriminalize the personal possession of 100g of cannabis or the not-for-profit transfer of cannabis between two adults (thats 18+, folks). I just got done emailing all my congressmen about this (although I'll be surprised if any of them vote against it, seeing as how I live in Vermont), and I highly encourage you to do it too. Even if this is something you aren't particularly passionate about, please take five minutes out of your day and send letters to at least your member of the House of Representatives. Congresspeople actually DO read constituent emails, and this bill will go a long way towards fixing the vast injustices caused by America's ridiculous drug laws, in addition to allowing responsible adults to use a substance that has proven to be much safer than alcohol. It will also go very far towards deflating the 60 billion dollar black market that has arisen from the use of this plant. Let your representatives know that you support this bill!
What in the world is canabis?
Edit: I just looked it up, marijuana, right?

Marijuana.

the same thing as pacololo
Actually, I could never really understand why pot is illegal, really. I don't smoke it and wouldn't smoke it even if it was legal, but I also don't smoke cigarretts and they are legal. Pot isn't any more dangerous than alcohol and cigarretts is it? (Okay, have no idea how to spell cigarrette)
There was a propaganda campaign in the 1930's. The film "Reefer Madness" is the best example of the scare tactics that lead to marijuana being made illegal. It was pretty much that the makers of synthetic ropes wanted to get all hemp banned or so I've heard, don't have a reference for that.

It's a hoot. Now, I've never been a big pot smoker. I've seen how it mess psychologically with some people. A member of my family was always broke and he had (and has) a very well paying job because he would spend all his money on dope.
Just looking into my crystal ball... i'm thinking this topic might fare better in the News & Debate forum. Maybe it's not a big deal, but better safe than sorry. :D
All i can say is i <3 my rep Barney! ::)
And yeah, your congresspeople and state govt officials DO read your mail.
DOes anyone have that site that lists the names and contact info for all the congressfolk?
I don't think pot should be illegal either but,
1.This should be in News & Debate, can someone move it? and
2. Delbeano, please create a profile and introduce yourself on the roll call thread so that maybe we can all get to know you a bit before posting controversial topics.
