To me, the threads that used to be in Brain Food seem more at home in Kitchen Sink than in What's New Pussycat.

I have to agree. If anything, "What's New Pussycat" sounds like current events...not discussions of books and TV shows, particularly threads that aren't about current shows or movies but just in general. And the change was confusing.

Oh i thought it might be kinda cool if on our profiles, there was a button or something that would link others to our favorite recipes.  That way if we visit a persons profile we can see the type of food they like/their favs and try em out.  I think its easier to try recipes when you know someone really likes it.

yabbitgirl and veggydog - if you see specific threads that you think should be moved, email laura at vegweb dot com! other than that, i'll go through and start pruning some of them and putting them in kitchen sink. the idea with "What's New, Pussycat?" is that it's a place to talk current events and pop culture (including movies, tv, blogs, magazines, etc)!

kennedy28 - great idea!! actually, this whole thread is filled with great ideas that we're taking on and integrating into the site. It's a slow process but we have a big unveiling on Monday so get ready!! (hint: it involves the search!) (so exciting!!)

squeee!  Excited about a potential new search function on Monday  :D

When I click on "Show Recipes Submitted by This Person" on profile I get ALL of the posts, interspersed with recipes. Which is irritating if you are looking for a recipe you know you yourself submitted about 3 years ago.

Holy cow-- 25 pages in replies!!  ;)b

I'll be reading through all of those in the days to come, but I figure if no one has already mentioned it, I would love, love, LOVE to see nutritionals on the recipes you have listed on this wonderful site! It would really help me immensely (and I'm sure a lot of other folks out there) if we could get calorie counts and other nutritional counts on the foods we  can make here. I've scouted around on other types with so called vegetarian and vegan recipes but they're really not, much to my disappointment. So far this is the only site that matches what I want to do with regards to my diet.

So great gurus of this website, I hope you will take this idea into consideration.  :)>>>

I love VegWeb, it's my latest passion.

What I would like to see is the cookbooks forum to be a forum in it's own right, instead of a postscript on the dine and dish forum. It's sort of like the stepchild of the forums, off by itself, excluded from the rest of the family. Under categories, but then it's the only category. (?)  It took me many visits here to find it. I had seen it, but because it stands alone, I had expected it to be just a list of cookbooks, or something like that. Then when I discovered it, I got all excited, then after a few posts, I realized, it is so dead in there! Well, no wonder, it is shunned. Members are probably embarrassed to be seen in cookbooks.

LilyRoze,

Actually, when vegweb was first transformed into its current incarnation, Cookbooks was its own forum, but there were so many other forums, that the older/active users felt it should be a sub forum to help clean things up. I can see how it could be a bit confusing to a new person though!

Thanks for responding, Hanashi.

Well it looks as if Veg Web thinks veg cookbooks are not important. It doesn't appear cleaner to me. It appears unbalanced,  neurotic. As if maybe Veg Web is in competition with veg cookbooks. Delegating them to a lesser level than other subjects. Often subjects that have little to nothing to do with vegetarianism.

Hi LilyRoze - we love cookbooks and they'll be getting their own main category page very soon, perhaps even today! They are not a lesser category and I'm sorry if there was any confusion! If you have any other questions about it, feel free to email me, laura at vegweb dot com! Thanks!!

Thanks, webmistress Laura:

I and the undersigned all support your decision, and hope that it will lead to more repect for vegetarian cookbooks, and lively discussions on the cookbooks forums.

I think I'm burning out on vegweb, so maybe the current change will help ween me off it altogether.  We used to be able to search for people and now we can't.  I don't think.  Am I right?  If so, I like that function.

And, if it's that easy:  Well it looks as if Veg Web thinks not important. It doesn't appear cleaner to me. It appears unbalanced,  neurotic. As if maybe Veg Web is in competition with . Delegating them to a lesser level than other subjects . Often subjects that have little to nothing to do with .

This.  Which is reason number 9,238,473 I think I'm burning out.  I just keep coming back out of habit.  I really should really just spend more time with the recipes and avoid the forum.  I love talking to all of you on facebook, so I don't really need the forum here.  Except for that yg doesn't have fb and I'd miss her.

hh, you're probably just in a mood. It happens. Why would you want to leave? There's annoying crap that comes and goes, but oh well. You know there are so many beautiful people here. Like them or not, the changes aren't a huge deal. It's a cycle.

I am definitely in a mood.  Which is totally inappropriate because I was just totally frickin close to Neil Young.  Maybe it's the let down after the high.
