Warm squishy feeling

This isn't a question or anything, I just wanted to share a happy vegan moment. I am a member of a local Scottish country dance class and last night we had our end of season "Sundaes on a Monday" party. The class organizers were to provide the ice cream and each member was encouraged to bring their favorite toppings. I didn't want to make a fuss, so I just planned on buying myself one of those little containers of Purely Decadent ice cream and taking it to the party. Well, the organizers actually bought 2 containers of Purely Decadent just for me and had them there with all of the rest of the stuff! It was soooo sweet of them!

My veganism has come up once or twice because on regular class days people bring snacks (homemade and store bought) and I can rarely eat any of them so people have remarked on my awesome willpower (ha!) or kindly badger me to eat something until I'm forced to mention why I'm not eating the junk everyone brings.

These are the nicest, most warmhearted people so I shouldn't be surprised that they went out of their way to provide me with an ice cream alternative, but it still gave me a warm squishy feeling  :)

Oh and I obviously didn't eat all three containers myself, but somehow all of the Purely Decadent was gone by the end of the night! Several people remarked how tasty it was.  ;D  8)

That's very nice. Occasionally in life you run across some very nice people.

I see you are in Mass. Red Sox fan? I'm in CT.

Yeah, baseball is the only sport I enjoy watching. I am a Red Sox fan, love going to Fenway, but I'm not native so I would feel like a poser if I called my self a "true" Red Sox fan. I haven't put in the time or the suffering. Also, I feel I'm spoiled because I moved here in 2004 one month before they won the series.... ;D

Wow. You have some incredible timing. At least you got to suffer through the first three games of the ALCS that year. The last four sure made up for it though. I've been a fan since '75 so I've done my fair share of suffering.

My wife graduated from the Art Institute of Boston in 2005. One of her school's two buildings is just on the other side of the Mass Pike from Fenway. She went to school there for four years, lived in Kenmore Square for two of them and has NEVER been to a game!

Baseball is my only sport as well. I hate football and basketball. Something about the many layers of shifting strategy and the combination of individual and team achievement make baseball fascinating to me. That and the roller coaster ride of being a Red Sox fan.

I feel that way about soccer.  :)  Only I'm boycotting the local team (Galaxy) until David Beckham leaves.
