poor lil lamb

just read a quick little "article" on perezhilton.com about a lamb that was born so deformed that it had to be euthanized.
it was born with 7 legs, a hermaphrodite, and part of its bowel missing so it couldn't pass stool. the bowel part was what they had to euthanize it for, because it was "going downhill fast"
if u wanna see the picture of the little thing, or read the whole thing (its not much) here is the link http://perezhilton.com/?p=3006
Sad story. I didn't think I'd ever be grateful for euthanization. It would have been a more painful death for the lamb, otherwise.
interesting comment i found on the site....
"How can you say “poor little creature” when your fat ass eats meat everyday? hyprocrite! if you actually cared you wouldn’t eat those poor little creatures EVERY DAY. that goes for all you on here. its cool tho, one day you will die. =)"
Hmm..
Yes, it's possible to have horrible deformities in any species without chemical interference beforehand. There may be other factors, but I was taught that it's usually from missing, extra, or misplaced genes or whole chromosomes. Most severely deformed fetuses are aborted naturally before they come to term, though....but not always.

I've been round and round the 'net, and all I can say is, we must have some fabulous mods. Or somehow, the "I need to be vegan so I can be holier than thou" vegans all failed to find what they were looking here and left.
With the exception of a few issue-specific lists, this is the ONLY veggie place I bother posting. It's like, dude, people are animals too! ??? I guess the comment you shared just made me re-appreciate what kind of environment this site has evolved into. For the most part, of course. Always a rock or two in any sack of lentils....
