;D If you think that's all it takes to gross us out...
Have you been eating more fiber than usual? Have you been eating anything else in different amounts? Am I reading it right that you have loose stool? Guh! After hanging around this crowd I should have asked if you had runny dumps or something. How long has your stomach been hurting? If it's been a while, get a medical checkup just to make sure it's not something else.

Runny dumps.. :-D For lack of better words, haha, yes that is whats wrong. I am going to the bathroom like 5 times a day! Also having a problem with things irritating my stomach that never bothered me much before, like tomato or orange juice. I am worried I may have a stomach ulcer. Its been a problem for about a month now. I do eat a lot of beans...

I've been wondering about the fiber thing lately too...I use this daily food tracking program and I noticed that I average like 55-70 grams of fiber a day!! I've been having issues similar to yours and my doc can't find anything wrong. I wonder how much is too much?!?

any amount can be too much if your body is not used to it. A high fiber diet often times takes a while to build up to unless you have always eaten that way.
If this is the case just ease up a bit and gradually increase the amount as your body gets use to it. Also maybe add some digestive enzymes.
If I am rambling or this post doesn't make the sense that I think it does.. my brain is fuzzy. :-\

Ooo geee. The vegan gourmet wrecked my stomach, I am not at all used to the processed things.
I would go as far to say any significant change in the diet will unsettle the stomach.

I've been tracking my food intake recently (as discussed in a different thread). Below is a report for my average intake so far this month. The only thing I seem to be getting enough of is fiber. I haven't had an upset. It might be a matter of eating different foods, or it might be something else. You could have a bad microorganism in your small intestine, completely unrelated to fiber. If it's something that continues, get a check up. There's no use suffering if there's a different cause for it.
Avg. grams/day Percent of Goal
Protein 37.2 g 46% Carbs 140.6 g 88% Fiber 21.2 g 132% Fat 12.0 g 52%

awildfire, poo is a very acceptable topic of conversation on this board :D no worries! I had diarreha issues when I first went veg. I think it just takes time for your system to adjust to all the fiber. I am assuming you are a new veg because I haven't seen you post before today.

I do think you can overdo the fiber though. If you have too much it will basically act as a laxative and send all the nutrients you need right back out of your body before they can absorb. I agree with others suggestions to limit your fiber intake for a bit and build up gradually until you don't notice this issue.
ALTHOUGH, I think it is perfectly normal to have softer, more frequent (2-3 times per day?) poo's when one is vegan...without all that dairy and meat clinging to your colon that's what happens and it's a good thing, just not what most people are accustomed to with their daily poop ritual that leaves them in the bathroom reading for a half hour.
I think as long as you don't have literal diarrhea multiple times a day you're not overdoing it.

I am fairly new! Its been about 8 months since I made the switch. I really think it must all of the beans I eat and I also drink a lot of juice. I'm going to up my water intake and see if that helps!!

A little divergent from the rest of the responses, but you may have too much yeast in your system. I know I had similar digestion problems and then stopped eating yeast and sugar for a while, cleared it up...
